I found that my radiator sprung a leak today. Now I am in the process of removing it. I believe i have everything done to get it out except for one part. It is some wiring protected by a metal bracing. I'm not sure how to remove this part to get the radiator out.

It appears to be the same part that sprung my leak not sure how it hit my radiator but it did. I will see if i can get a pic of it and upload it for you to see. I'm not very computer savy so no promises on the picture.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

here are the pics. The one on the left is the metal bracing protecting the wiring. You can see where it damaged my radiator. Not sure why they hit though. the second pic is where the wiring conects in below the radiator. The other end of the wiring goes to the fan.

I could be mistaken but I believe what you are looking at is the wiring for the clutch fan.

On my '03 and '04. 5 that wiring and "shroud are SUPPOSED to be held in place in a recess on the fan shroud.

If I didn't know any better looks like that's been loose for quite awhile to rub a hole in the radiator. See if you can find a the recess/groove in the fan shroud for reassembly.

It should be directly behind that wire cluster.

Bob thank you. I got the new radiator in and found what you were talking about in the fan shroud. I think I got er fixed and shouldn't have a problem again.
