My problems have resolved on discovery of a weak battery that has prompted them both be replaced on noticing the starter dragging a little bit. Since that appears to have resolved the radio issue I'm going to isolate the solenoid line to trigger a relay isolated from the truck wiring and may install a stiffening capacitor to the Radio to help offset a voltage drop at the head unit. So far so good. Apparently the Voltage drop on starter engagement was scrambling who knows what....... Don't get me wrong though, I'm learning to hate this Head unit and it's pos NAV...
