Oh god, we should all go dump our auto trucks for a G56 model, Not!!!! Snoking

I didn't tell anyone to dump their auto's. You should have whatever truck floats your boat. I have a simple tradesman. Didn't want the extra cost of a Laramie. But you should enjoy the conveniences of your truck.

I almost wish my truck used more DEF. Or I wish there was a drain cock on the DEF tank.
I have concerns that DEF left in my tank too long when not using my truck will go bad and cause problems.

But I read (and this gives me some comfort) that as the def deteriorates, the SCR system detects it and squirts larger volumes of DEF into the exhaust stream.

So it MIGHT be that a truck using alot of DEF got a hold of some old/partially degraded def?
Won't hurt your truck any tho

Can't we just make it

I wouldn't recommend that. You might be lucky to get reagent grade urea. But if you get technical grade urea, you will have a real mess on your hands. Be careful putting the def in your tank because even the salt from the sweat on your hands will screw up the sensors. Stick with the bottled stuff in my opinion. I taught chemistry for many years at the university level. I wouldn't recommend experimenting after seeing the average person's lab technique

Just a flashing flash... You are right...

Why would you want to make it? Do you want to avoid spending $8-$12 every few months (give or take) that bad?

Fancy Gap & Beckley are certainly two areas where the power, the Aisin, and the exhaust brake certainly shine!!!

Nothing like stopping off at Love's in Fancy Gap and returning to I-77 north and listening to everything work in harmony.

drove and towed both MANY a time..Also I 64 coming up New River Gorge into Beckley connecting to I77...long 7% grade on I 64 stretch .....the truck is an animal..Was towing a 39' 9" 5er CAT scaled weight at 16, 300#..Will tow heavier this year:)

I let mine get down to the top of the DEF gauge red area and added 2.5 Blue from Walmart today and it brought the gage to the full line. I am sure it would take another 2-2.5 gallons. Since it is getting hot here in SoCal I will keep the tank on the low side just to be safe.
