Interesting subject and forum. But why are these guys complaining about "non-greaseable balljoints" when they should be complaining about balljoints period? Heavy duty trucks need kingpins...

... And serviceable live bearing hubs. And lockouts. And solid shafts in solid axles.

Those questions make me laugh. There's a lot of contradictions how the truck could be improved. Clearly if you want the perfect truck you have to build it yourself.

it will interesting to see what comes of it, there will be some really good questions I am sure,

all I can add is, I was really close to trading out of my 2nd gen into the 3rd gen truck recently, these guys have are going through allot of crap on low mile trucks, at least most of the 2nd gen trucks went 150K before the truck went screwy.

these guy's trucks are having ball joints from hell on 20K mile trucks and up , and a list of other things that are no fun to deal with, and there still learning how to deal with the issues.

after spending a week looking through the 3rd gen forums I said no way, so even with all the bs with the 2nd gen's there still a better truck in my humble opinion.

its just a shame a person plops down a serious amount of money on a new truck and has to work on it like its some old beater, I am waiting for some guys to come on that are having issues with there trucks and the dealers blew them off.

Steve I somehow missed the invite or link over the winter, I just read the whole thread, bummer, waste of time, there were some very good questions asked and by you as well and they were not answered very well, maybe there attorney was sitting in with them as well?. do you feel like your questions were answered fully?

in my opinion. it would do the Ram Engineers well to read these forums under all the years and on other sites daily, they will learn more in a years time reading about the mods we do to these trucks and the troubles and solutions to these trucks than a q/a session where there not allowed to really talk trucks.

Too bad you missed it. We sent out 2 or 3 email announcements about it in the month leading up to the event, had it on the front page of the site, and put an announcement at the top of every forum page (with flashing exclamation point signs to each side of it). The questions I was asking were ones that were submitted by users prior to the event. To be honest I was busier than you could possibly imagine trying to help out with the technical issues during the event and posting the questions to see what was and wasn't answered. I wasn't involved in pulling the article together (I think Robert did that) so I didn't go back over it after the fact either.
