We just received an email from the PR folks at Ram. They wanted to share with us the unveiling of the Ram 1500 electric vehicle. The event is at the Consumer Electronics Convention and the scheduled time is at 5:30PM EDT.

Here is the link that we are following: Ram Revolution Concept | Reveal - YouTube

As usual, your comments about the vehicle are welcomed in the comments area of their video /post.

Thanks for your support of the TDR.

Very cool collection of short videos. "It should give people goosebumps."

Should make you proud to be a Ram owner.

A lot of fancy eye-catching candy, and with an advertising style which started around 20 years ago, a lot of citified background and no "work". Real truck stuff like load capability, towing long distances, or time of day (light or darkness), climate-related (hot/cold) or passenger comfort effects are not addressed. It will be interesting to see what will come with this vision and advancement in technologies to support the electrification beyond a trip to the corner grocery or nightclub. Then the short- and long-term costs; are they really going to be affordable.
Maybe Gil Favor, Wishbone and Rowdy Yates can drive some prime beef down the trail.
With the challenges they are undertaking I think a lot of good could come from this, given enough time.

Just another tax payer financed grocery getter... Not a truck and just a me too IMHO. Frankly as someone who worked in college on HEV programs 20y ago, It makes me ill to see how the Govt is subsidizing and pushing this on the public with no consideration about the long term down stream effects (materials, electric power sources, recycling).. Given its time to mature, this would not be going like it is, and unfortunately I feel that we will have a real problem on our hands when the next better battery or systems comes and owners are left with these vehicles that were bought at a premium and cannot be recycled or repaired.

Electric trucks are selling. There are tons of trucks out there that never see any cargo more than groceries. Maybe the occasional trip to Home Depot in the spring for the new plantings. These trucks will work quite well for those folks AND cut down their Carbon Foot Print (said tongue in cheek). I'm happy to see Ram confront the competition.

It wouldn't pull my trailer so, why buy one. I don't need a grocery getter since we have an ICE SUV.

In a side note I have read where the NTSB is concerned about EV trucks and large SUV. They are concerned with the mass of the batteries in order to achieve a 300-to-400-mile range. The NTSB said what will happen to the poor Honda Civic if it was in an accident with a large heavy battery laden EV machine.

Just Saying.

TBH I love the almost zero maintenance of my electric golf cart (with Lithium Iron phosphate batteries). That is a nice looking truck and it will sell because people love tech gadgets. I suspect the starting price for that vehicle shown (with all gadgets) is going to be 6 figures. For me I wouldn't buy it because its very limited as a truck the way I use my truck. Is an EV in my future? Likely, but it will be a sedan.

We'll looks like after 2030 i might not have choice as Stellantis announced no more gassers after 2030.
