Our 2003 Sprinter at work has proven to be built better than my 2006, and it has 236,750 miles on it.... My rig only has 71k miles and......

It shifts like crap
Parts are made like crap
Blend door breaks on it's own
Metal shavings in diff oil
Wind noise from doors
Steering pump leaks

I highly doubt that if these trucks did not come with the Cummins under the hood NONE of you would be driving them.

Took my '03 in for an inspection and was told will need the parts, get this......dealer said it will take 2 YEARS to repair my truck because of a nation wide parts shortage. Asked if it was safe to drive, & was told he wasn't sure. Asked what would happen if a part failed while at 65mph and he said it wouldn't be pretty. I'd like to hear from someone who works for Ram/Dodge/DC, and find out why there is a shortage or was I BSed by the dealer? I thought my truck would pass the inspection since I have less then 10K miles since installing the upgraded suspension. I wonder if Dodge/Ram would buy my next truck for me if a failure occurred at freeway speeds & shortage of parts?

The dealers can only order one set per 7 days. If it makes you feel any better they only break when at full lock. If you are at full lock at road speed you have bigger problems than steering failure

Yes - I got the recall on Jan 22,2014. Called dealer - they have a back log up to the yann, yann. Called the 888-327-4236, got a tap dance!!! the dealer told me to call back the first part of April - I did they still are having parts problems. Went to www.safercar.com another runaround .Now they have another recall number N62. I live southwest of Orlando, Florida - Avon Park. Has anyone had any luck getting it fixed? - after inspection. Can I inspect it with out any trouble. They talk about" The - LEFT TIE ROD STUD may be fracture" !!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure I want to wait for trouble. I'm having trouble with the front after I use 4x4 turning around in a small area - they talk about that also!!!!!!!!! I would like some type of feedback. I'll be taking my truck in for a oil change - soon. There's a technician there that's good - maybe he'll help.

...Now they have another recall number N62. ...
Yep. I went to my dealer yesterday and the parts guy told me that there is a recall for the recall... that is, the first recall parts are defectuive and those who have had it performed will need to bring it in to replace the linkage with another updated version. He said that any parts in stock related to the first campaign shall be sent back!

Those who are subject to the original recall but have not had it done will ave to wait for the newest version to become available.

No ETA on when the latest version will be available.

DC really screwed the pooch on this one!

I don't understand 12,000 miles and loose parts. I have replaced ball joints twice and tie rods once in 355,000 miles.Regularly tows a 9 ton GN and plows with a 9ft Boss VXT all winter. How many people do you know who have had a tie rod break? I know 1. I must know 50 who own trucks under the recall. Just because you get the notice, it doesn't mean the tie rod is going to break tomorrow. On the plus side, I'm sure Dodge appreciates the legal advice you offered.

I finally heard of an individual that I know who had the drivers side tie rod break. He was backing his truck up in his driveway to hook up his travel trailer and the drivers side snapped clean. He was un-impressed as he was a prior chebby guy and was tired if fighting with ball joints that need replacing every 25k miles, much less breaking with less than 15k.

Just got off the phone with my Ram service adviser. New parts shipped yesterday, ONE PER DEALER EVERY 2 WEEKS! I am #19 on the waiting list, that's a 10 month wait!!!!! Can anyone recommend a lawyer?

Hasn't broken yet but I have stopped driving it. I have elderly parents that I visit every two week, 1000 miles round trip. Been renting cars rather than risk a failure on the road.

I had a recall on another truck (gasser) that my wife drove a few years back and the local dealer (the only one in that county) was swamped.
I called around and found another dealer in another county that was slower on business and was able to get it done in a couple days. Have you call around ?
Up in the Bay Area there should be plenty of dealers there or in all the surrounding smaller cities.

From what my local dealer told me the kits from Chrysler are "rationed". I am likewise waiting... maybe someday it will get fixed

You guys worry too much. If your dealer read the earlier recall and did it correctly the chance of breaking is nearly nil.I have only seen 2 broken in last 3 years or so and both of those were done by DIY guys running 37''' tires. The latest version recall IMHO is to make the linkage idiot proof

Couldn't have said it better myself.
