Can anyone tell me why the Ram truck website still shows only 2018 HD trucks when we are clearly well past the order date for 2018 models? Is this somehow related to the "confusion" about when the new HD models are going to be available? Is the 2019 really just a 2018 with a different build year? Same colors even?

Only Ram knows the real answer, but based upon past history, Ram seems to lag a year on the release of new body style HDs from the 1500s. I'm guessing this is the case here, although, you would think they would go ahead and update the HD side of the website with 2019. BL: It's likely 2019 HDs are all the same as 2018. Cheers, Ron

Most likely because there are still qty of 2017 new ones out there still.

Why rush the new stuff when the old stuff is still hanging out.

Special order of course different story.

But odds are you could find something very similar to what you could order in a 17 or 18 model sitting somewhere still.

Just an FYI, I don't think there were any or few changes in 2017 to 2018 Ram C&Cs. I watched my 2017 truck in my sig on line for about three months; it had sat on the lot more than a year, so made a great deal on it back in March 2018. Same can be said with the 2018s now, if you don't care about not getting the new body style. Good Luck, Ron

2019s don't start production until January 2. Orders open in November. The website won't update to 2019s until they starting hitting the lots. Saltillo was closed for several weeks in the spring to prep for the new trucks, so the 2018 model run is being extended to meet orders. Orders normally close in late April/early May, but 2018 orders were taken through early August.

Saltillo was only partially down this spring as they added paint booths. Standard colors still ran. Plus Saltillo will not be producing the next gen HD for US market, that is supposed to be moving back to US plant.

It will be interesting to see if they will have the non-EGR Cummins and more cogs in the auto gearbox. I am contemplating returning to a CTD, so I wish something would leak out.
