Had a run in with one of those other so called trucks,no not the Ford,ah you know the other one,oh yeah it was the Duramax,4 doors all the options. My buddy just bought this truck,I was so disapointed in him,but he got an excellent deal with his GM discount I guess.
Well anyway I took it for a ride and it was nice and new with the new smell and all that.
But it had a LOT of radles in it,they told him it will go away as soon as all the body parts work together, yeah right. This is going to be long cause I just have to tell you all about it.
It was pretty quiet as far as the engine goes, and the auto trans seemed to shift a lot in and out of 3rd and 4th I think. It road way better than my truck, but when I looked under it I was really surprised to see the frame,it looks like a half ton frame,no wonder it rides so well,I bet there is a lot of flex in that frame.
As far as power goes it didnt seem as fast as my dodge, and when I ran him from a dead stop he jumped out to a truck length on me,but as soon as mine hit 2nd and 3rd I was right next to him and we stayed that was until he hit his limit around 85 mph he said,I was doing 92 and was gone,I thought the DMAX didnt have a limiter on it?
He is very happy with it,but he was in shock when I was right next to him all the way until he hit the governor.
I am thankful for my cummins,it is a true work horse,I think the DMAX engine may be ok,but I dont think the truck itself will hold up as well as the dodge or the DMAX as far as the miles you will get out of it.
We will see how it tows when we get our TTs out of storage and take them north,I dont think I will have to worry about him walking away from me,we will see. . )
