I absolutely cannot believe this. I am almost speechless, and to the point of going absolutely postal.

Remember my post the other day about how I requested the metal sleeves for my one rear Rancho shock that they were missing from when I exchanged a defective one at 4WheelParts? They sent me ONE sleeve.

So yesterday morning, I called and explained what happened and requested the other sleeve, and was sure to request it be sent overnight. Well, I get home today, and IT'S NOT HERE. Nowhere to be found. I got two other packages from UPS, but nothing from Fedex as they said it would go by. And of course, it's after 4 PM my time, which is after 7 PM their time, so I can't call to complain until MONDAY.

So for nearly THREE WEEKS I've had this **** shock and I still cannot use it.

What is the deal here? Is it me? Is Rancho out to f--k with me until I go crazy?

<banging head against desk>

RobG, I did the Rancho 9000 thing this summer from 4WheelParts and guess what? One of the sleeves was missing. Lucky for me I checked all the shocks prior to leaving the store or I would of had another 70 mile round trip! (The Austin store will not ship direct to customers because they 'need to check all special orders' to see if the order is correct. ) They had extra sleeves in the back of the store! Who do you think is collecting all of our shock sleeves and what are they doing with them???

I received my set of Ranchos by mail in Sept, and they were also missing sleeves on the rear units. Called their "800" no and 3 days later the sleeves were delivered on a rush basis.

<font color=blue>My inquiries to Rancho have been promptly answered everytime (before I even bought my shocks), and the shocks themselves have been awesome. I wouldn't trade them for anything... .....

Well, there must be some sort of flag set in everybody's system that says, "screw up RobG's orders whenever possible and provide crap for customer service. "

I just got off the phone with Rancho this morning, and they shipped that second sleeve SECOND DAY despite my repeated requests for OVERNIGHT.

I do not want these shocks anymore. I'm going to order Bilsteins this week. If anybody wants a set of almost-new RS9000's (4x4) and an unopened in-cab control, email me. Otherwise they get the sledgehammer treatment, but I WILL NOT have Rancho products on my truck.

That reminds me, I have to change out the Rancho steering damper too.

What a POS company.

The missing sleeve situation is nothing new for aftermarket shocks, IMO. Every shock install I've ever done has not had all new hardware with it. I believe the Rancho instructions state that you may have to reuse some of the stock hardware (don't have them here right now but I'm pretty sure that's right). In my case I think that I had to reuse two of the sleeves from the stock shocks this time - not positive though as I consider that normal, didn't think about it. I just used one of the sleeves that came in the kit (wrong size) to push the stock ones out so I could reuse them. You have to remember that shock manufacturers do not put out a shock specifically for each model of truck - there is always hardware that you won't use and sometimes you have to reuse some of the stock hardware (or buy new).

I tried to remove the sleeves from the stock shocks just to avoid having to deal with Rancho, but they wouldn't budge. I would've had to destroy the old shocks to do so.

The other sleeve finally showed tonight around 7 PM -- too late even to install the shock tonight.

Sheesh.

Well you would think after like 100 calls they would start sending them with sleeves, woulndt ya? Guess not.
