Looks great. Where did you get them, how difficult was the install, were they designed for the CTD 3500?

Rancho, as far as I know, does not make there traction bar for the Dodge. I had installed Rancho bars on a chevy I had, and since I was familliar with the mount I new they would work. I ordered Rancho mounting kit RS5557, and the bar kit RS6672. The front mount simply bolts to the frame. The rear mount I had to make a plate that went under the axle, and was held in place by the u-bolts. Then the Rancho mount bolted to my plate. Not a hard project, just need some metal working tools.

Probably after the fact, but you should post a picture of your custom mounting plate, and some dimensions in case some of us shadetree guys may want to try it.

Hey Y-knot did you ever get those pictures of your fabbed up mounts at the axle I asked you about on DTR?

I really need a set of traction bars for my truck, and this looks like a less expensive solution.

I think Brandon's Rancho bars have started to bend--of course his truck is used in sled pull competitions also--so if you're going up to mega levels of HP beware--I looked into changing my L&L's for the Rancho's, but ended up building my own (DOM tubing)as I thought they would end up bending -you can order them from any parts place I believe, but use y-knot's product #'s... ... . chris

y-not,

I hate to be picky, but a picture from underneath, better light and BIGGER.

You can get larger pictures downloaded if you set up a galery in Readers Rigs.

1. Did you have to get longer u-bolts? 2. Would this fit a 2500 H. O. with the Dana-80? 3. How much would you charge for the plates?

Nicely done, I would think that this would be a very nice set up for towing apps with RV's or the 26ft goose neck flatbed trailers.

I would be very much interested in the plates and a thicker set of u-bolts. ;) There is a money making opportunity for you, me thinks ;)

When I added the bars I also deleted the overload spring pack, by doing so I gained about 1 1/2" on the U-bolts. Because of this gain I did not need to get any diferent lenght of bolts. If you were going to do the same and not remove the overload pack, then yes you would need longer U-bolts. I used 1/2" steel plate to make the mounts out of. And I simply mounted my plate under the stock plate. I would think that you might also be able to weld a plate to the front of the stock one, just it might need some bracing? I would not be interrested in making any more, but would help with anything you might need in the way of measurment, ect. I can not see any problems with this set-up on a 2500 with or without a dana 80. The 70 mounts the same way, and both have the same width springs.

Y-Knot..... what is the gold piece that attaches the bar to the 1/2" plate?

Looks like something store bought (is that white thing a price tag? :-laf ) not something you might have welded up which your originally post's lead to believe.

Also what's the deal with the lettering and blue drive shaft?! :-laf :-laf :-laf

Doesnt look like any welding was done to me. He said that he fabricated the plate, and ordered traction bar & parts from Rancho, designed for chevy trucks, the Rancho (gold) bracket is then bolted up to the plate with 4 bolts, that he made he made.
