So here's another post! I'm ready for a turbo upgrade. I have a couple of options, well a few actually. I've researched all of these but am unsure of which I should take.
1. I can go to High Tech turbo, but I don't know whether to get the Stage III upgrade from a 56mm wheel to a 60mm wheel for the H1C upgrade, or go with the HX-35 upgrade from a 56mm to a 58mm,compressor housing included. Both from High Tech Turbo, and both used in conjunction with a 16cm2 housing. Downside, if I did that I would want to replace the bushings and stuff inside the shaft housing, or whatever it's called, and I don't know how to do that, or where to get rebuild kits.
2. Go to Piers and just purchase a PDR HX-35 for for twice as much (you get what you pay for, so it's probably twice as good... !) than I would for the HX-35/16cm2 option from High Tech, and still have to rebuilt the aformentioned items, and still have to spend $145-150 on an exhuast housing.
3. Go to Piers and send them my turbo, have them rebuild the inner guts, and have them machine out my compressor housing to the specs of an HX-35, with pin wheel and all, and hang a 16cm2 housing on it to boot, for about the same price as just buying the standard PDR HX-35. Downside, i'd have to send my turbo out. Not so bad side, Daniel was gracious enough to offer me a spare until I got my new one back.
SOOO, I don't know what to do
. Can somebody maybe point me in the right direction? I know that was long, and I'm sorry. I just don't want to make a mistake that costs $$$, ya dig? Thanks guys!!
