Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Ready To Kill My KDP

I have received a jig kit and my buudy and I are going to do the job after the holiday weekend. While assessing the job, my buddy brought up a question that I have never seen asked thru all the KDP discussions. Has anyone ever tried to tap the front cover and use a bolt to come in from the front and fix it that way? Is it because the front cover is so thin? Also while were doing the KDP, I will be changing all hoses, belt, water pump, thermostat and cooling fluid(w/the extended cat cooling fluid), is there anything else I have forgotten? You said it. The cover is basically sheet metal and wouldn't hold a bolt very well.

Be sure to take note of the belt routing before you remove it. The diagram on the radiator support on some '94-'96 trucks is wrong. Otherwise piece of cake, have fun.
