It is a ship engine...in a 40,000 ton dry cargo/ammunition ship. USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12). ...it also carries 1,000,000 gallons of fuel. It supplies U.S. Navy ships.
 
Who makes the two 9 cylinder engines?
Don't they know straight 6 makes the most sense?

Or, if its a straight 9 cylimder, that makes sense.
