Unfortunatley last night, everything thing I took a wrench to broke off.
I went to take the rear caliper lines off the center block, they were froze and started to twist (I had soaked them in pb blaster. So I figured instead of trying to loosen the fitting, I would take the block off the rear, disconnect the driver caliper end end and spin the whole line. Well, the bolt that holds that caliper hose bracket snapped. Whos dumb idea was it to thread the spring perch and put a bolt in it.
Then I went to take the rear diff vent bolt out to replace the bad hose and that bolt snapped. I managed to free the block from the hose. But then I twisted the hell out of the passenger line to the rear caliper. So I just decided I'd replace all of them.
Well, turns out. The brake hose from frame to rear and the one from the rear to the driver rear wheel are available aftermarket. The one from the rear to the passenger caliper is dealer item only. I'm planning on just sectioning in a new piece. The line itself did not rot, just the fitting on the end was seized to the line. I have a bubble flare kit.
Also, what's left of the fitting is frozen into the bracket up next to the fuel tank.
So I have a bunch of work and cursing to do to something that should have been a simple fix and is a mess. Also something I don't think should have rotted out already. I'm pretty disappointed.
Not sure what I'll do about the broken rear diff vent bolt. I'm afraid to try and screw the remains out of the diff.
