My truck developed a squeak recently. You can only here it from a start to about 10 mph. I had someone roll it back and forth while I was under it and it is from the middle of the driveshaft. It's a short bed so there's only 2 joints which are tight. I sprayed some lube on the joints and pinion seals, and it still squeaks!! I'm very confused why the squeak is about 2' from the transfer case. I used a stethoscope and it is for sure the driveshaft. The only thing I could think of, is that it's in a bind somewhere, but wouldn't the squeaking be at the ends and not the middle?? I'm confused and need answers:confused:

That could be the problem since they are supposed to be sealed. I have a tendency to wash the truck and park it in the shop for a weeks time. Maybe a little water got in there and now there's some surface rust somewhere? I know some greasable's will be on order shortly. Always something huh.

One (or both) u-joints are definitely bad and squeeking, but the sound is being transmitted through the driveshaft, which makes you think it's coming from the middle.
