Yeah, what Dean said. I put a set on mine. Timbren is a great company to deal with. I needed a different set of springs because mine is a two wheel drive and they arrived the next day. Also stuff4trucks had the lowest prices out there.

I wish mine would sag more:eek: ... then it would set level with the heavy Lance slide-in camper on it. With only 10 lbs. in the air bags the rear end is still higher than the front.

rear end sag

Do they put different springs on the DRW truck than the SRW

because my 10. 6 Alpinelite seats mine down just right. It is when I hook up the horse trailer loaded when I need some help in the rear. Oo.

Timbrens, if they are installed with 3/4" or so of space between them and the axle, should reduce the sagging a lot without affecting the no-load ride. However, with a light load (500-600 lbs perhaps) you will be on the Timbrens or smacking into them and the ride will be significantly rougher. I have about 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" of space between the Timbrens and the axle (I'd have to measure to be sure) and they come in at about 1500 lbs (on a 2500). I have the old brackets and had them cut down; with the new brackets you may just be able to leave the rubber washer out to achieve the same effect. Now the ride is excellent at any load and the sagging is still significantly reduced.

Ray,

I did a post a week or two ago in the RV/hauling forum about Timbrens.

short version: great product the initial brackets were about 3/4 of an inch from the axle when bone stock, added on super hitch, tie downs, truck box and spray in liner. the timbrens had contact then and the ride was rougher but not bad to me, the boss complained so I e-mailed Murrey Biel @ timbren he sent new brackets and a 1 inch rubber spacer. When using the rubber spacer with the shorter bracket it would have been the same length as my original set up. so I mounted then without the extra spacer. They no longer have contact when empty (my empty is the above load), and the boss is pleased again with the ride.

Well I don't know if they put the same springs in the Dually as the single wheel. But I put around 4000-5000# of pin weight on my gooseneck and that make my dually just sit perfectly level. You couldn't ask for any better, seems they got the springs right on the money.

On the other hand about every Ford I see with a trailer of any size on it looks like it is dragin ass :D

It's not the load that does it, it is when you hook something up to the trailer hitch when she goes soft on you, no idea why but it don't take much.

Thanks guys for all the info, Timbrens is starting to sound like what I need to go to so I can keep her tail up

I swear a butterfly lit on my tow ball the other day and the rear dropped an inch! Honest

They don't drop nearly as much with a 5th wheel attached or a load in the bed as they do with the load all the way back attached to the tow ball. Not sure what that is about but my boat trailer with about 300# of tongue weight will drop it more than I like the look of.

Have you got a phone number for the stuff 4 trucks place. I have emailed them three times for a phone number but no reply. Would like to order a set but cannot do that till I talk to them. :(

Ray,

Give this a try:

J. C. Madigan, Inc

Shaker Road

PO Box 745

Harvard, MA 01451

(978) 772-2067

FAX: (978) 772-2219

They run stuff 4 trucks, I think. I have never done business with them, but a friend of mine got his Timbrens from them (Casey Balvert). They were cheaper than from where I got mine. Hope this helps.

Dean

Madigan does own the stuff4trucks website. Tell them it is an internet order and got no response to your emails. I think net orders included free shipping. At least it did on mine. I am not sure why they don't list Dodge trucks on their website. I paid 155. 00 inc. shipping but I think they may have gone up five bucks since them. Just be sure you order the DR3500CA kit. This fits both four and two wheel drive. The DR3500C only fits the four wheel drive. And if you have a problem, Timbren has great customer service and an 800 number. They can be located at www.timbren.com

Timprens

My Timbrens were shipped out today, UPS so it will late next week

when I get them. East coast to NE Oregon :)

The wife has not yet driven the truck. Have to take her out today and get her used to it as she has to delivery some puppies tomorrow. That may be a mistake though as she may not want to drive her Neon anymore. ;)

Ray

When you get them, let me know how they installed and all the rest, sounds like what I might need.

Thanks, your Northern Oregon buddy Hunter1

Just take the jounce guards off and use the same 2 bolts to put the Timbrens on. Very easy to install.

I need to regain two inches when truck is fully loaded with "stuff" and the pull trailer RV is attached. I am 20,000# total when loaded that way.

Will the Timbrens give me those 2" I need to level up or would a 2" lift be better. Not really familiar with either one so any ideas would be much apppreciated.

Have already decided against airbags

The pin on my fiver when loaded is over 3K and the truck is level with the Timbrens. I would give them a call and tell them what your requirements are and they will tell you what you need for your application. 1-800-263-3113. Very nice folks and good customer service. BTW you should have about 3/4 of a inch or so clearance between the axle and the Timbrens when riding empty, so if you carry a heavy load all the time you might need a shorter rubber spring or the truck will ride harshly because the Timbren would be resting on the axle all the time. I always have my fiver hitch and a toolbox in the truck and still have the "empty" clearance of about a half an inch and have no problems at all with the empty ride.

Dean

The truck does sit down a little in the rear, but it aint weak. I carried two loads yesterday, the first was 3500# and there was still a little space between the overloads and their stops. I couldn't belive it. It only took a few hundred more pounds to make them touch, I was impressed. I have some Timbrens comming, but now am begining to wonder if I really need them.

My 5w has a 2300# pin weight. It used to make my old truck sit level, but the new one is still rearend high when hitched. Have you adjusted your hitch and/or pinbox position?

Fireman

BTW that dually sure does ride better with a couple of tons in the bed.

I am pulling a trailer, not a 5th wheel, and I load the bed heavy besides when pulling with outboards, fishing gear, bbq's, etc.

I have a Leer canopy on besides so it weighs it down also.

I think Timbrens will give me my 2", maybe?
