drives mopars,

My Diff gets hot also, however I don't have a gauge on it to know how hot. I think its OK I've used synthetic fluid in it since I bought the truck and it's still doing fine, no rebuild... ... ... . yet:)

As far as the vibration is concerned, do you know if the U joints are in phase? If not that will cause a vibration:confused:

Have you done the TSB on the drive shaft angle? This is a 1/2" spacer between the carrier bearing mount and the frame mount.

diff temp

I have gauge on my diff and 6spd xmsn. When outside temp 70-80F xmsn runs 150-170 diff 170-190. Xmsn using DC 6 spd xmsn oil. Diff using synthetic 90-170 oil. I Have 3500lb slide in camper on truck all the time and GVW is 11k lbs. DHope this helps.

Philip, is this spacer real trick, or is it just 1/2" steel with slotted holes in it? Thanks, I have been trying to chase an intermittant vibration since I bought this thing

Thanks,

Russell

It is just a 1/2" piece of steel with the mounting hole spacing of the carrier bearing. It lowers the carrier down. If you lay under the truck and look at the angle of the drive shaft it see it raises up at the carrier bearing mount.

When Dodge installed the 6" blocks on the W series of trucks it threw the drive shaft angles into the vibration zone for the u-joints.
