I'd say the "sinner/saint" ratio in the ranks of cops tracks, pretty closely, the incidence of those qualities in the general population.
There are good cops and a-holes; I've dealt with both. Some of 'em are guys you'd trust with your life (deservedly so... ) and some are "little Napoleons" with sexual insecurities.
Most are decent enough folks, but I've had a couple of run-ins with local sheriff's' department deputies, manning speed traps in rural Georgia that might open some eyes among those of you who think everyone in uniform is a fair-minded, straight arrow like Andy of Mayberry...
