Should the rear main seal be covered under the power train warranty? I have a 2014 ram 2500 6.7L 4x4. It is still under power train warranty and emissions warranty.
Took it in for the Transmission service and told them it looked like the oil pan gasket was leaking. They diagnosed the rear main seal leaking and something on the front of the engine. Said it wasn't covered by power train warranty. A quick call to FCA determined otherwise. Should be picking the truck up Friday with everything fixed under warranty.
repair of rear main seal may require transmission removal for access to seal assembly. do a search on Youtube... you'll get a better idea of what's involved.I have a 15 2500 6.7 auto 4x4 53k. Mine has a seep coming from the rear of the motor, probably like the original poster had. It drips once after I park. Every time. If it is the rear main seal or the oil pan gasket, what is the extent of the repair?
I have the extended warranty until 70k.
I didn’t want some yahoo working on it if they had to pull the motor and screw other stuff up.
I’m in the DFW area if anyone had a great recommendation on a dealership service department. Thanks Andy.
repair of rear main seal WILL require transmission removal for access to seal assembly. do a search on Youtube... you'll get a better idea of what's involved.
