I have some scorring on my rear rotors. What do I have to do to get the rotors off. Any tips or techniques that make it easy.

you'll need to "slack" off parking brake "shoes" just like the old drums, and also may have some of those annoying clips/washers on the wheel studs that have to be removed (I didn't put them back on after I did mine)

Those clips are installed at the factory to retain the disc as the vehicle moves down the line without wheels.

They should be removed, like you did. They are unnecessary unless you make a habit of driving around with no wheels!

A couple hits with a hammer should pop the rotors off (once you remove the clips).

Well I've done mine twice now (damn sticking calipers). I recommend putting in new slides and lubing them well while you have it off.

I get my mini sledge and a pry bar. I pound on the back of the rotor, turn and pound and turn and pound, until it works it's way off enough to rock it with my hands and work it loose. Then I slack off the adjusters a bit after the rotor is off.

With 400,000 miles and a few sets of pads, I've never had my rotors off. No pulsation, no erratic stops etc, it's all good!
