From experience - if the dealer ordered the truck as "sold", AND your friend signed a buyers order AND put down a deposit (mine was $100), you will get the BETTER of either the rebates in place when the order was placed, or the rebates in effect at the time of delivery. If all of the above steps are followed AND you take delivery of the truck within 7 days of it arriving at the dealership, you are also protected from any price increases. The dealer has to fill out some paperwork to cover price protection, rebate decreases, etc. but mine did it with no hassles - the rebate went up $1000 but the price jumped a couple hundred too. The keys are a SIGNED order, a deposit, proper ordering of the truck by the dealer, and a dealer who is not a ****ler.
Rebates that will NOT "carry" are short-term bonus-rebate deals like the holiday cash, etc.
