I'm looking pretty hard at getting the RB1 navigation radio, however went to the dealer to see what he could do and it's not listed. I realize there's several places to get it, that's not a problem.

In the Chrysler 300 for 2005, there's a listing for the "REC" radio. Looks like an upgrade to the RB1, and has all the navigation functions plus the built-in 6 disc CD with MP3 capability. Also has an inter-connect with the U-Connect hands-free cellular unit to allow voice dialing to places listed in the navigation radio disk. Anyone have any info or sources on the REC?

Don't thinkit wil fit?

BTW, IS IT?

Sound System

Cruise the streets and turn up the available AM/FM Stereo with integral 6-disc CD/MP3 player. For a seriously stellar sound, couple it with a Boston Acoustics 8-speaker 380-watt digital amplifier and subwoofer (available only on 300C). Performance characterized by a smooth octave-to-octave tonal balance, natural frequency response and uncolored presentation free of distortion, from the very softest to the loudest passage, identifies the Boston Sound™. Boston Sound is aimed at faithfully reproducing the original recording as the artist intended it.

GPS Nav System

The available integrated DVD-based GPS navigation system will give you turn by turn directions and a full screen display to get you back on the right road.

Sirius Satelite Radio

The available SIRIUS Satellite Radio offers an unparalleled selection of 100% commercial free digital quality entertainment on 100 channels. Music in virtually every genre, sports, news, and entertainment are available wherever you drive throughout the continental United States.

UConnect™

The available UConnect™ Hands-Free Communication System offers you a truly remarkable breakthrough in communications capabilities, enhancing safe vehicle operation without compromising driver control by allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel. UConnect uses advanced voice recognition that allows you to dial your Bluetooth™ Hands-Free Profile wireless phone hands-free using simple voice commands, and automatically mutes your radio before receiving or sending a call

It's a CANBus radio, so it will only initially be offered in the Durango, 300/Magnum, and '05 Grand Cherokee. It will not function in any vehicles using the J1850 bus. Plus, it's roughly 2. 8 DIN so it's not likely to fit in any vehicle that wasn't designed with REC in mind.

Here's a size comparison. RB1 is on the left, REC on the right:

well, you pretty much know what there is to know. one advantage it has over RB1 is that the DVD drive is separate from the CD drive, so you just pop the DVD in the lower slot and forget about it. As for sources, you can get it in a 300 or a Magnum. It will not work in a Ram.

In Dash 5 disc changer + casette

Whoever buys that is going to be disappointed. That's an RAZ (single-CD/Cassette). it is NOT a changer.
