REC Radio

I'm looking pretty hard at getting the RB1 navigation radio, however went to the dealer to see what he could do and it's not listed. I realize there's several places to get it, that's not a problem.



In the Chrysler 300 for 2005, there's a listing for the "REC" radio. Looks like an upgrade to the RB1, and has all the navigation functions plus the built-in 6 disc CD with MP3 capability. Also has an inter-connect with the U-Connect hands-free cellular unit to allow voice dialing to places listed in the navigation radio disk. Anyone have any info or sources on the REC?

It's a CANBus radio, so it will only initially be offered in the Durango, 300/Magnum, and '05 Grand Cherokee. It will not function in any vehicles using the J1850 bus. Plus, it's roughly 2. 8 DIN so it's not likely to fit in any vehicle that wasn't designed with REC in mind.

Anyone have any info or sources on the REC?

well, you pretty much know what there is to know. one advantage it has over RB1 is that the DVD drive is separate from the CD drive, so you just pop the DVD in the lower slot and forget about it. As for sources, you can get it in a 300 or a Magnum. It will not work in a Ram.

Whoever buys that is going to be disappointed. That's an RAZ (single-CD/Cassette). it is NOT a changer.
