DP: The truck was white. The man that purchased it new is a individual contractor that does our fencing on the road projects. Has a crew consisting of him and two helpers. He purchased the truck at a dealership about 40 miles away from where I live cab/chassis, and took it to a manufactor of custom flatbeds. All they do is manufactor the flatbeds and install them on the one tons, they do paint the flatbeds black, but the truck cab has always been white. He also has a 99 model same set up,that is red. Paint still looks good on it. I myself had problems with paint and clear coat peeling on two different vehicles. One a 93 Astro van and a 95 Chevy Z71 pickup. Got Cheverlot to paint the Astro for free after it was three years old, and me the second owner, they claimed it was bad primer that caused the paint to peel. The Z71 clear coat started peeling off the hood after about the fourth year. I took it to a body shop that I new the owner and he told me that the hood had been repainted. I told him not by me I bought the truck new, his comment was that anything totaling under $1500. 00, that the dealership did not have to inform you about that, it had been repaired. Sold the truck as is not long afterwards.
