@AH64ID, maybe the 12 volt angled receptacle could be mounted somewhere in a better place on your truck. That way there is no chance of the wrong thing being plugged into it. Whenever a generator that I'm asked to save, and it can't be, I grab these off of them for future projects. Maybe something to look into. They have clips to hold them in a panel and 1/4" quick tabs for power hook up. I power mine off during day since I might be taking the truck and charger is behind a locked shed door. I unhook trailer plug and hang in a bracket off the ground, re-hook when I return and place cone by door as reminder.

There really is no chance of anything else being plugged into it. The NOCO plug is not a universal one. Only NOCO accessories will plug into it.

The are two big advantages of the under hood connection too, proximity to the battery and the hood ajar light as a reminder.

What brand is your charger?

BTW, which side of the sensor on the NEG post does the charge line need to be (battery side I assume?), I remember it being mentioned before, going to order the NOCO ring terminal kit tonight so when my truck gets back from correction and ceramic coating I will install prior to parking inside.

On the vehicle side of the IBS, that way the truck can monitor current into the batteries while charging.

I've been using the HF Viking 4-amp Maintainer for the past several years. Has kept the batteries up over extended down time. They go through their cycle than maintain in storage mode. 6/12 - AGM - Standard.

Is their storage mode a float? Or do they stop charging like the NOCO's?

It has a storage mode. It has a snowflake symbol that tells you it's in the storage mode and if the charge would drop it would start a boost cycle. It does the varying voltage up to 15.0 with a high frequency to help de-sulfate the cells. I've got several of these and have been pretty happy with them. The 3500 batteries are from early 2019 and going good! The DW had me make a hook-up for her SUV when replaced the battery in 2018. Made a 2 pole SAE connector with a cap that hangs through her grille for attachment. So far, so good!
