Taking a CAT for a drive...

Just got back from the store, saw a guy with a Dodge Cummins, yakked a bit. Then I asked if he gets on the net and did he ever check out the TDR. He said he did and insisted that TDR was short for "Truck Driving Rednecks" #ad

Oh no now what are we gonna do! I had to leave as it was obvious I had encountered another "two digit I. Q. " #ad

I think you will have to admit that the TDR membership tends to lean towards the right(fine with me). Many people would say that the right = redneck, left = hippie. IQ makes no difference, there are sharp people on both sides.

Since when is being a redneck a bad thing?
Redneck does not mean backwards racist moron. Rednecks are simply blue collar hard working americans (neck red from working in the sun).

If you didn't consider that a compliment, you need to git some mud on yer boots! You should'a cracked a grin big enough to show all three teeth and said with a good ol' southern drawl, "Thank ye kindly sir!"

Being called a redneck is an honor IMO - MUCH better than the L... ... word!! Some of my best friends are rednecks (and I smile every time I'm called one) - of course we nearly come to blows occasionally, but we don't mince words and say what we mean!!

Yeah, if you got a gun, (or many), a truck, let your dogs in the house (they keep me warm), and are proud to work for a living... your one! #ad
I don't care what you call me just don't call me late for supper! One guy at work said "you can always tell the dummies, their the ones with dirty fingernails from working on their cars". Never did make sense to me. My felling is if you can't fix it why are you driving it.

Not a redneck in the stereotypical sense of the word... that's why I like that song "High Tech Redneck" so much. But hey... you'all are on the net, so you're not so stereotypical yourselves you know.

But I'll take "redneck" any day... #ad

Good point Stratland, This reminds me a little of The Worst Park of Owning a Truck. Around here there is a quiet crowd of Rednecks, it never fails, something breaks and low and behold we are all there getting the job done. Think about all of the "redneck" type jobs that EVERYONE relys on to live; personal fav is pushing snow. Wait even better I don't do this first hand but, Farming? ha

No kidding- if it werent for farmers, hte townie liberals would not have much to eat, now would they? I hail from the redneck capital of the world- southeast MO. I know several dummies who would be doing good to have a double digit IQ, and some who are smarter than I am. Not to brag, but I got a 32 on the ACT w/o studyiing (math brought me down), and scored 130+ on AOLs IQ test. Yeah, not real accurate, but gives me bragging rights in the liberal crowd.

My neck gets red every summer- Hayfields, tractor driving, riding, etc, etc.

ddpcfc,
See I live in the opposite world, yuppy land #ad
It's great here, if you do anything other then type, you're a redneck. Suits me ha ha.

I thought I was a redneck until I went to N. C. to live (God, I love that state!) The first thing my new room mates dad asked was "What's the capitol of North Carolina, boy?"

I proudly said "Raleigh, sir!" (like a GM rally wheel) #ad
Holly sh**! You would have thought I called him a everything but a white man. I quickly got schooled on how to pronounce the capitol of N. C. , and got called a "**** Yankee!" #ad
It wasnt long before I was chewing redman, wearing cowboy boots, and putting lift kits on my truck. In fact, that's when I started loving trucks so much.

"Oh I wish I was in a land of cotton, old times they are not forgotten, look away, look away, look away Dixie Land... ... "

If any of you want to take a tour down South of the Mason Dixon, go here to the Sons of Confederate Veterans website. If any of you have family that were Confederate soldiers, you might enjoy the site even more, such as I do.
