Good explanation I guess . So what did this all cost on a new truck. And it’s all removed in a delete I guess. It must be a expensive system

It's not that complicated.
The DOC helps burn unburned hydrocarbons. Same as the catalytic converter on a gas engine.
The DPF is just a filter that removes soot from the exhaust. Dumping raw fuel into the exhaust causes the temp to rise to about 1100 deg to burn off the soot (active regen).
The SCR uses DEF (urea) to set off a chemical reaction to convert nitrogen oxides into nitrogen, water, and tiny amounts of carbon dioxide. It has the same effect as EGR. EGR works by introducing small amounts of exhaust gases into the combustion chamber to lower combustion temps and prevent nitrogen oxides from forming.

Nicely summarized.

I’ll add that it seems like the truck tries to keep the EGT’s around 1000°, not 1100°.

So I take it banks sells a computer tuner that you can make more power and not mess with your emmissions and take off to not void your warranty . Like I really need power power than a ho .But banks has been around a long time

Not yet. While banks makes good stuff, nothing yet for the 19 and newer Cummins.

46K I wonder if the def fluid is starting to break down The last time I filled up was in April and I still have a half a tank ??? just like flipping a switch at 45K don't make sense
How many total engine hours? I was told by one of the many techs that I've dealt with to multiply the total hours by 35 to get the equivalent mileage that is on the motor, as it figures in your idle time. example mine is at 1500 hours which is supposedly the equivalent of 52,500 so mine would've had the equivalent of 42,000 on it when it started acting up last fall. Which is surprisingly close to your 45k

edit: I'll also note that mine isn't all idle time. I plow with it, so it is time spent going back and forth pushing snow in parking lots. So it is still working under load not just sitting idling.

They do not currently have a tuner for the 07+ trucks, they claim it is in development. As far as warranty that is a grey area they say the tuners don't leave a trace in the comp, but also tell you to remove before seeking service. After all we all know the dealers will look for any excuse to void a warranty to avoid paying.

Ram (HO), Ford & Gm all track HP & torque in the TCM so they can tell if you have made more power than it came with. As for the SO Ram I bet the ECM (which controls the 68RFE) does the same but I don't know for sure. I have been told be several techs that the BCM flags a different ECM has been installed by looking for a mileage mismatch between BCM/Cluster/ECM.
