Yes... . I had the Edge removed and sent back to Edge for diagnostics because the display would lock up from time to time leaving the truck with less power and running poor.
Odd thing is even with the #1 Mileage setting my mileage around town has since gone up to 20 - 21 after removing Edge from about 15-16 with the Edge(overhead readings). I have kept an Excel spreadsheet since new so I'll get some accurate readings after running a few tanks without Edge. My overhead has always been very close to hand calculated numbers so it’s a good guide.
Has anyone else noticed that much of a decrease running Edge? I don't remember loosing that much when I installed it. But then again, I added & changed so many things over time that I can't recall exactly if the Edge helped or hurt mileage. According to the spreadsheet, however, my mileage has gone down since stock but that I attributed to additions (bumper, line-x, gears, 315's, intake, exhaust, etc. ). And yes I know that to get more power you’ll need to consume/burn more fuel. I was under the impression though that the #1 Mileage setting was to conserve or improve mpg from stock.
With the cost of fuel these days I'm may be leaning towards E-Bay'n the Edge. I like HP and TQ but at what price??!?!?!?
Just this past weekend I pulled a 30' gooseneck down from the Adirondacks. Running empty up there I clocked around 13-14. Running loaded home I ran between 10-11. Empty with no trailer I run 16-17. I remember running up there when she was new (completely stock) loaded with a similar trailer and averaged 15+mpg. That's almost 5 mpg decrease..... not good!
