Yes... . I had the Edge removed and sent back to Edge for diagnostics because the display would lock up from time to time leaving the truck with less power and running poor.

Odd thing is even with the #1 Mileage setting my mileage around town has since gone up to 20 - 21 after removing Edge from about 15-16 with the Edge(overhead readings). I have kept an Excel spreadsheet since new so I'll get some accurate readings after running a few tanks without Edge. My overhead has always been very close to hand calculated numbers so it’s a good guide.

Has anyone else noticed that much of a decrease running Edge? I don't remember loosing that much when I installed it. But then again, I added & changed so many things over time that I can't recall exactly if the Edge helped or hurt mileage. According to the spreadsheet, however, my mileage has gone down since stock but that I attributed to additions (bumper, line-x, gears, 315's, intake, exhaust, etc. ). And yes I know that to get more power you’ll need to consume/burn more fuel. I was under the impression though that the #1 Mileage setting was to conserve or improve mpg from stock.

With the cost of fuel these days I'm may be leaning towards E-Bay'n the Edge. I like HP and TQ but at what price??!?!?!?

Just this past weekend I pulled a 30' gooseneck down from the Adirondacks. Running empty up there I clocked around 13-14. Running loaded home I ran between 10-11. Empty with no trailer I run 16-17. I remember running up there when she was new (completely stock) loaded with a similar trailer and averaged 15+mpg. That's almost 5 mpg decrease..... not good!

I don't know if this is pertinent because you don't indicate when you made the trip that you remember, but be sure to remember that this time you're probably running on ULSD and on a winter blend to boot. Neither is condusive to good mileage.

06 Edge W/attitude

I have a 06 2500 megacab 4x4 6spd. I put the edge on about 5k miles ago, i now have 13k, i never noticed a mpg difference until my last fill up, i usually run it on 1 or 3 and average 16. 5 city(on the overhead). This last tank i put it on 1 when i filled up and noticed the fuel gauge on 7/8 after 70 miles, normally doesnt move until atleat 100 miles, i looked on the overhead ant it was 12mpg, and thats driving nice!!! on anyother setting the mpg seemed ok according to the overhead but on setting 1 its horrble, im going to call edge.

You guys can't use the overhead for reference, it gets screwed up with the pressure changes. The proof is in the hand calc

mpg

I noticed a huge differnce in where the fuel gauge was to miles driven, to afraid the overhead might be right to try it for a full tank..... driving to Texas in a week, i hope i get the mpg figured out by then, I might see if dodge can do the reflash... ...

My 06 got 14mpg stock and with the juice got 10, then put some small DDP injectors and now get 16/18mpg city 22/24hyw with the same juice box.

Hey Guys. Its been a while since I removed the edge and my mileage seems to be in the 18's average (hand calculated).

Edge said I needed a software update that will fix the display locking probelm. Didn't say anything about mileage, but I suspect it will help as it ran like doodoo when the display locked up. It was so bad I had a hard time going up simple grades with a 5x8 box trailer behind me.

Xtreme Diesel (great bunch of guys by the way) is installing the Edge back on the truck today. We will see if it goes down, up, or stays the same with the new software update.

Common sense tells me that any setting other than 0 (stock) or 1 (mileage) will give you less mpg because it takes fuel to make (more) power and if you 'step on it' you'll use even more. Do you guys agree???

I never saw an increase in loaded mileage, but no decrease either.

NJT, did I read that correctly. You used to get 15+mpg with a loaded 30' GN?? I've driven enough of these trucks and been around tons of others. No one gets that kind of mileage pulling anything near that size of trailer. No one. Not even an empty trailer.

Hey Cattletrkr... ... . I re-read what I posted and agree I worded that wrong. . sorry!

I said a similar trailer but it was NOT a gooseneck. It was a 24' (I think) tag-a-long whose's weight was I think around 2k lbs empty. The gooseneck empty is about 4500 lbs. So total weight (with lifted s-10 truck) was approximatley 2k lbs lighter with the tag-a-long vs. loaded gooseneck.

The Edge is being put back on today and I'm going up there again for a snow mobile/ice fishing/beer drinking fest ( HA  ) next week. This time I'll be towing a 24' enclosed Thule trailer. Total weight should be around 8k lbs. Towing this trailer before its not so much the weight but the wind drag (trailer inside clear is 7'6"), and I think the WIND drag is what killed my mileage with the gooseneck because the s-10 truck is so much further up in the air when compared to the height of the trucks cab.

I do know, for a fact though, that I can get 15 -16 mpg pulling the gooseneck empty up to the adirondacks. Done that a few times. Why my mileage was so poor the LAST time is probably due to the fact the Edge was locking up. It was so poor at times that I had a hard time making some grades where I should of just flew right up. I'm hoping the software update will fix that.

Here is a pick of the gooseneck.

I talked to Edge yesterday about the Juice/attitude. He told me that the main levels are timing, the sublevels or low boost levels as they call them, are more duration.

After talking for some time the way I understand how it works is like this.
power level 1 = small increase in timing
power level 2 = a little more timing
power level 3 = a little more timing
power level 4 = a little more timing
power leve 5 = the most timing.

Sublevels or low boost smoke control levels.
sublevel 1 = a little extra fueling off idle
sublevel 2 = a little more
sublevel 3 = a little more
sublevel 4 = a little more
sublevel 5 = the most fueling off idle

So if you can drive sensible and keep your foot out of the throttle especially towing you can get your best fuel mileage on power level 4 or 5 with sublevels set at 1.

Timing is what helps fuel mileage with the Juice/Attitude.

He told me that esentually Edge had to call the levels something and since it's a power module before a mileage module the number 1 level was called mileage increase level. They did this with the expectation that people buy these boxes for power and playing around so they had to protect the consumer by naming the levels as such.

Now if you take a little prudence with this module you should be able to get some good fuel mileage.

Set your boost back down % to about 36-38 PSI.
Set your EGT back down % to about 1300 - 1350* F
Turn on your transmission slip back down to ON.

Run your truck on level 3 - 4 with sublevel 1. You should see a nice fuel mileage increase.

Level 4 is what I was told is the best fuel mileage increase but you have to drive conservative and use a lite foot while towing to increase speed from a stop to highway speeds. This is more for drive train safety than anything. If you set your Juice/Attitude up right, towing in the upper power levels is doable and can increase fuel mileage.

Now non of this is from experience as I just ordered a Edge Juice/Attitude from www.truckaddons.com

I'am just explaining it the way I interpreted it from Edge. I'll know more once I get the module and can experiment a little. :)

By the way I would have bought from www.xtremediesel.com the same Juice/Attitude because they did price match but from www.truckaddons.com I also get a free $89. 95 remote starter. Sorry extremediesel I called you guys 5 times and you called me once trying to lower the price a little so I could buy from you but you would not.
