Has anyone gone to aftermarket replacement bulbs for their head lights? The low beams with the fog lamps on are not bright enough for me.

I have tried several sets, looking for the best performance, the Piaa brand offers two 9004 lamps and both work very well. They are rather expensive, but they offer more light for less watts and don't burn out every time you hit a bump in the road. While replacing the lamps will offer some improvement, the best thing anyone could do is to replace the wiring harness with Summit racings headlight replacement harness. It is very well constructed, offering much heavier wire, and completely by-passing the headlight switch and drawing the power straight from the battery. The harness comes complete and ready to install, just unplug the headlight lamp connectors and plug in the harness. Then connect the 12+ and ground wires to the battery, and mount the two relays. The kit allows the factory headlight switch to operate the relays, which then route the power straight from the battery to the headlights. This simple move adds alot of brightness, it eliminates the small wiring harness the factory uses, and sheds almost all the load from the headlight switch, which is a known trouble source. The kits retail for 39 bucks, and it you have the quad lights you will need two kits. Good luck

i just installed silverstars in the headlight... i'm disappointed. In fact, I only replaced the passenger side, in order to compare the output vs the standard bulb. I really cant see much of a difference.

You Guy's might want to reconsider just replacing the bulbs. As Y-Knot says, and in my own experience, I have had headlight switch failure, just by going with aftermarket bulbs. Just my $0. 02 . Good Luck.

I suppose you could modify the Summit Harness to work but doesn't appear to be specifically for the 3rd gen trucks and a lamp out dash indicator could be something to deal with.
