My lift pump is headed south and was looking for a replacement pump. What is out there besides OEM from dealer?

I would like to find a direct replacement without paying the dealer $225. 00. I have searched the forms but came up empty. Can anyone help.

The new version came out about a year ago or maybe a little more. If you have not had a new lift pump during that time you still have the old version. No noticable difference from the outside, just some changes to make them last longer.

Summit sells a Carter pump that is real close to the same thing. It flows more gallons per hour. I think the hose connections are larger, so you'd have to get adapters. I think it is a 4601HP and it sells for around $80. It mounts up the same and is the same physical size.

I am still under warranty but I had it tested a month ago and was told it is ok. I am planning a trip To Canada and don't want to be stranded some where. When I called the dealer or a price they first quoted me $1450. 00 for a rebuilt one. I told them that is not a lift pump but an injector pump. That is why I am going to just replace it myself. They don't know the difference between a lift pump and an injector pump. I don't want to go get it tested again to tell me it is ok again.
