Went camping last week and towed my 22' TT (weighs between 5000-6000# loaded) up and down some 8% grades. In addition to the trailer I had a 700# ATV and another 100# of tools, etc in the back of the truck.
As you can see I have the EZ w/ boost elbow, 275RV injectors and the BHAF. With the six speed running in 5th gear I was able to reach 1300+ degrees F and could keep it climbing to 1400 if I wanted. So, it looks like I need to find a way to get a little more air into my engine and/or cut down the exhaust restriction. It was frustrating because I had lots of pedal left, just couldn't keep it cool. (Of course I was already going 65-75 up some 7-8% grades). My goal isn't necessarily to climb hills faster but rather to make it so I don't have to constantly watch my pyro gauge.
Will losing my muffler help much? I will eventually get a 4" exhaust but may try the straight pipe first.
