Mike,

I have seen these types of offers that provide lower prices and or lower financing rates but sometimes this applies to a certain geographic area. This is usually stated in the fine print especially if the person is financing through Allied credit the new lending agency for Chrysler LLC. Now if the person is paying cash than anything goes the dealer will sell to anyone.

I had this problem when I bought my 08 Dodge in Crystal Lake IL. just 50 miles from my home. When we sat down to write up the sales contract he stated that I could not get the incentives for financing through Chrysler at the time because I lived outside of the special sales area for the dealership. I did not care because I was paying cash for the truck anyway.

Thanks Jim,

I was pondering that, if I were standing flat footed in North Carolina but lived in Maine if the offer would hold.

That is a question that I would ask before I went anywhere for sure... .

Mike. :)

Thanks for the link, Mike. I spoke with them and thought about making the trip as I would get to see my older brother who is also in NC. But, after that, I found an even better deal not too far away. I'm not sure how they managed this as another nearby dealer would not approach it, but the incentive was $3,000 rebate and 1. 9% and $1,000 trade-in allowance. Notice the AND instead of OR. They did not have an LB in stock, but were able to locate one and get it in. I will pick it up on Wednesday. This is at Sunnyside in McHenry, IL.

There was something different with the financing I had not heard of before. It was 1. 9% for and 84 months was the only term. You just pay more than the minimum to get a shorter term.

Thanks again.

Tim

I have been nibbled on by the 4th Gen bug so have started researching them in great detail (driving my local dealer nuts)... .

So I am comparing the Laramie Luxo Boats to the ST with upgrades.

Example of ST with popular equipment here.....

2012 Dodge Ram 2500 ST 4WD in Phoenix Arizona - Stock#2D0052 - Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Scottsdale Az

Looking for opinions from folks that have gone either route and wish that they had done something different or are perfectly happy with their choice.

Figured this might be fun to kick around.

Mike. :)

My last two trucks have been brand new Laramie with all options except for Sunroof.

On my 2011, I factory ordered what I wanted (again), Black on black, 4. 10 gears, and pretty much fully loaded up Laramie. I also added factory bed liner, tube steps, mud/snow floor mats, and remote start to the order. Would do it again in a heart beat.

P. S. I haul a 5k pound Truck Camper and haul toys with my truck, then drive it to work on Monday:) Been a great truck!

I bought my truck through a local dealer after I located it online at Power Dodge in the Phoenix area. Local dealer picked up the truck, brought it to Winslow, honored and passed on all of the rebates and incentives that were offered by Power. Truck came with tinted windows, bed liner and spare tire lock standard from that particular dealer. My dealer said that since I didn't order these items, and they couldn't remove them, they gave them to me free of charge. :)

I ended up with a 3500 ST crew cab short box 4X4, found it was easier to search through the listings since the 3500 only comes with the Cummins engine and has the basic options I wanted as stock, such as no spin rear axle, trailer brake, etc.

If I were to do it over, I might go with SLT or Laramie. I would like to have had some of the conveniemce items that come with those models, like i-pod adapter, 110v outlet, etc. I might be able to add some of these items, but the dealer would have to program the computer in the truck to make them work. No more "Plug-N-Play" with these rolling computers.

Even if Ram switches to DEF, regeneration is still required, but perhaps not as often. The advantage of using it is a reduction in EGR and more advantageous engine timing, resulting in better fuel economy- like Ford and Chevy have now.
