was it more power or about the same?
Debating going to Mach 2's, 3's or 4's.
I also planning on upgrading from DD II's but am currently on the fence as to which one.
I think my DDII's are a bit too smokey.
To me, power was about the same. But it came on quicker. I attribute that to the cleaner stick.
I went to M3's after the M1. 6s. I ended up sending them back to F1 for diagnostic work as I was having a stumbling issue and Don wanted to be sure his sticks were not the casue. While he had them, he opened them up to M4's for me as I had mentioned I wish I had gone bigger to begin with.
Those M4's were actually less smokey than the M3's (newer design) and lots more power.
So, the bottom line is this. What do you do with the truck and what do you want to do with it in the future?
If you tow heavy, a M4 is a handful with a small single. Add a cam, and things get better immediately! Again, it all depends on what you want to get out of your truck.
I drove a stock sized HX35 with a 12cm stock intenal gate for a long time and had to watch WOT temps a little. Switched to a 14cm housing with a modded gate and temps were much better. Of course, this is all after the cam.
So, for a mild upgrade with a comp type box, the M1. 6s are hard to beat. If you plan on adding lots more parts real soon, go bigger. Obviously, each step taxes the drivetrain, so be prepared.
