I found a sweet combo from RDS Aluminum. They offer a real nice Aluminum Transfer tank & Toolbox combo. Its "ALMOST" everything I want and need because it holds +50 gallons, includes a seperate fill port and 2" threaded plug for an electric pump and the toolbox will be "nice to have" for things currently under my seat (Jumper cables, etc). The best part is, it all fits UNDER my tonneu cover. This is key because my truck sits in hotel & public parking lots quite often.

Before I ordered it, I decided to take a few measurements. I have a 6' bed so I quickly realized the 'full length' tanks won't fit. Ok, no problem, they offer a "between the fender" version for those of us with smaller beds. Tank is 50" wide. I measured between my fenderwells and came up with ~49. 5". Granted, I have a Rhino liner so I realize I lost a little space with that. So I ask a friend to measure his Dodge without a liner. He came up with 49. 75". Also measured 2 Chevys at 50. 5", no 'unlined' Fords available for measurement.
So I called the manufacturer and explained my findings. Long story short is, they told me no-one has ever complained and we've sold a ton of these so I guess it's your truck. As if my Dodge and my friend's Dodge is unique to the millions produced by Chrysler.
I cannot believe that I am the first person to identify this issue. Am I really the only guy on the planet who wants to put a tank in the back of my Dodge with a 6' bed??
So long story short is. . Does anyone own this setup in their 6' truck? Is the tank a true 50" in width?
Normally I'd move on but it seems no-one else makes a setup quite like this.
Thanks in advance.
