I am buying a 1st generation truck as a second vehicle and have a question on raising it's ride heigth. It is a 1 ton dually regular cab and it has 226,000 miles on it so the front end is definitely sagging! I would like to rebuild the front end and install new springs. Has anyone done this and used taller than stock springs to increase ride heigth? If so, what did you do with the rear springs? These springs appear to have a good arch and no sagging so I might consider using blocks. The new body style has a much higher appearance and I definitely like a taller truck. Any help and/or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

on my 89 it sat tail down. i added 3 inch block to rear and im adding an add a leaf in front. inexpensive.

I know surely someone out there has replaced the front stock springs to increase ride heigth on a first gen. 2 wd. Please Help!

I just installed new front springs on my 93 xcab dually. I used

Moog hd springs that the moog rep said were about 10% stiffer

than stock. Now the fronts are slightly firmer than the rear springs. The ride height increased 2-3 inches. I can find

part numbers if wanted. :D

Please!

Thank you very much for your help! I would definately appreciate it if you would post the part numbers! Thanks again for your help. Also, did you have to go back with longer than stock shocks?

I installed Moog#5716 coil springs. No, I didn't use longer shocks. After installing these springs I had 1/2" of toe in, which Greg, at Walker Tire Truck shop in Omaha, adjusted to 1/16th". It drives great now and the heavier springs took all of the "wallow" out of the front when driving over big dips in the road surface.
