TDK,, yah the SRW would be ok,, and probly cheaper,, but my stacks would look absolutely "Fall over Laughing" funny, unless I routed them through the bed.

That is the main reason I decided to keep it a DRW.

Also, like people say,, "Training wheels" the extra tire improves trailering and loaded drivinf condition IMMENSLY,, which is a good thing since I seem to turn corners and switch lanes like the import guys do.

Where's Doc Tinker,, He'd have to come up with something oddball, or funny to say,, I could use some Comic-Relief.

Bummer

MC,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. It wasn't that long ago I was admiring the pics of your stacks - beautiful. Made me sick to look at your truck with the fender all busted up but I'll bet not as sick as you. Hope all goes well and you get it fixed quick.

Thanks CharlieMiller, It'll be back to good again,, hopefully better than good If I can make it to a rally sometime :) I have a few goodies to help bring me up "out of the dumps" with my wrecked truck.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ABS is designed for slick roads, sooooooooooo, if the street was dry (as it usually is in south Tx) having the ABS disconnected didn't really make a difference. Not that it makes the damage go away. Hope the repair goes smoothly.

Just by looking at those pics, mostly the first one, it looks like the axel is pushed back. Hope not. Must be an optical "conclusion". What a sick feeling that must have been.

I went to blast by a truck on a bridge (dumb) when I was almost by him he came close to my left side so I moved a "tad" to the right only to eat a front simulator on a high curb... lots of noise and those fake lug nuts went flying, just "kissed" the end of the studs... no mechanical damage. Yes, I did pass the truck!

No optical illusion. Axle is yanked out of place. The Auto shop I took my truck to said that it is just the bolt that goes through the leaf springs,, he said it just sheared the head off the bolt,, all he has to do is pop another bolt back in and line it up, and bolt 'er down. Nothing else seems messed up,, but we'll have to see as time goes on.

Glad you didn't mess up your truck too bad Mike.

The road was dry,, I wasn't paying full attention to the road, finally realized I needed to stop, and jumped on the binders only to have the rears lock up and the front ones coast along. I would have much preferred the fronts to lock,, so I am going to be putting a proportional valve in the rear brakes so I can turn their power wayy down, or have it "stock" again, for towing, loaded etc.

Thanks,, the repairs are going "okay" so far,,, the shop isn't working as fast as I'd like them too,, I wanted my truck back yesterday, and the day before,,,, LOL
