Okay guys,, I've seen alot of reports of people complaining about Dodge Brakes and ABS,, Well, I hated my ABS, so I unplugged the fuse for the ABS,, I've HAD excellent results,, with extremely improved brake wear on the front pads of my RWAL '98. 5.

UNTIL... Last night...

I was coming up to an intersection, waited a little to late to brake, and had to stop a little to fast,, I ended up locking up my rear tires,, and had the back of the truck slid out a little bit,,,, well,,, a little bit too much,, I ended up clipping another Dodge,, a 4x4 1500,, With a Big Honkin' Grill Guard,,, with wrap arounds for the headlights... Well the grill guard took ahold of my dually fender and did a Lovely job of removing 90% of the entire fender.

Nobody was hurt, Thank God,,

but I need your help,,,

If anybody knows where I might be able to get a '98. 5 "Light Driftwood" Dually Fender with the side moldings,, that would be wonderfull.

All I need is a cheap dually fender that is in good shape, and not brittle.

Thanks guys any information for cheap dually fenders would be excellent,, I will be taking my tyruck to a top-notch bodyshop here in town, and don't want to buy a new replacement fender when yall are here, and there might be a possibility of a TDR member having a Fender that could be put to use on my truck. :)

Thanks guys,

Humbled in Laredo,

P. S. Neither of us wanted to call the cops or file with insurance,, we just settled it in a nearby parking lot,, and parted ways with a handshake and a "I'm sorry, Good luck"

Sorry to hear about your truck, glad everyone is OK.

I don't mean to kick you when your down, or sound like a jerk, but I wonder what the insurance company would have said about you removing the ABS fuse? They may have looked into that if you had filed.

That's something that I hadn't thought of since I was thinking of doing the same to mine, until I read of your experiance.

There's a pair of dually fenders for sale in the classifieds.

there off of a 2001 red 3500.

I'm surprized you're not looking for a replacement seatcover too.

Ain't nothing like having a 20' long vehicle swappin' ends on ya'

Sorry to hear of the trouble.

I guess that's why they put the RWAL system on these puppies.

LOL, not married, but I had my girlfriend and her brother in the truck.

Yah, she's says my truck is to big for her to drive, but she really likes it. :)

After we hit the guy I asked her if she was okay, and she said "Yah,, How's your truck?"

She's a keeper.

I took the ABS fuse out because several months ago I was being stupid and tried doing a burnout in 1st gear, I dropped the clutch at 3,500RPM and stabbed the brakes hard, the truck jumped once and then a loud "pop",,,, I broke the differential.

The ABS works off of a "tone ring" connected right next to the differential,,, well when the differential "spyder gears" broke it took out a few teeth on that ring,, and now whenever I step on the brakes the ABS module thinks I am starting to skid and applies the ABS,, so I removed the fuse and haven't had the replace the $250 ring.

I will be calling EGR pretty soon about upgrading my front rotors and pads so I can actually get some stopping power from the front tires.

Thanks guys.

Good Luck, TC

and my $174 Euro tail lenses. plus nobody got hurt,,

That's where the bright side ends,, LOL

I e-mailed two people in the clasifieds today,, I'm waiting for a reply. So far it's gonna be about $400 for just one fender

I bought injectors for less than that.

at least your diesel bill will go down b/c you lost your fuel fill. Bummer about that dude. I always figured those fiberglass duallies would shadder if hit.

I might just be able to put a Fuel "catch can" in the dually fender, since all the BOMBs I've added have made my MPG go so High, I have to drain some Diesel out when going on long highway trips. ,, I have to stop by Truck stops to make a DEPOSIT in their diesel tanks, instead of me filling up now, LOL .

Sam Peterson, you're the man I'm looking for.

I need info. I'm finally doing some research for brakes for my Ram,, it has plenty of "go" (Even more on the way) but, as you can see by these pics,, the whoa is NOT There.

I need my front brakes to be stronger.

I am thinking of going with new/rebuilt calipers, new rotors (Cross drilled and slotted) and new hi performance pads.

(Hopefully a system similar to EGR)

I am also looking at one of those "In-Cab" brake proportioning valves. The ones with the twisty knobs so I can turn my rear brakes wayyy low, or all the way up to original strength.

As I mentioned above I need more braking power to the front wheels. I hate having to lock up my rear brakes way before the fronts feel like the even start grabbing. This is unsafe and has to stop.

Thanks in Advance,

Merrick Cummings Jr.

EDIT: I'm confused, I forgot my question.....

What do you suggest? What do you think of my choice of "BOMBs" for the front-end brakes. ?
