Our products are produced at our plant in Eugene OR. For those of you who are in the Portland/Seattle area we can probably hook you up. We go to the plant 1-2 times per month.

James, thanks for jumping in and joining the TDR welcome aboard.

I for one am greatfull that you can offer us this great deal, 35% is a pretty serious discount. And now cutting the guys a deal in the Portland/Seatle on shipping even better.

Guys in my opinion crateing/shipping is something you would have to pay no matter what, we are still getting a substantial discount on the product. we are still saving over $700 on the bumper !!!

I guess it comes down to a matter of personal preference :)

Personally I think the Roadarmor looks much better than the ARB which I really don't care for. To each his own.

Keep in mind the ARB unit is constructed from primarily 11 ga sheet metal, Road Armor units are from 3/16" plate. The 3/16" plate is over 3. 5 times stiffer than the 11 ga sheet metal. For example if you apply 60 lbs of force to each side of a piece of 11 ga measuring 4" x 12" supported in the center of the 12" dim it will deflect beyond its yield point. The same sample using 3/16" would require 210 lbs of force to deflect and will not yield under that load.

Also, Road Armor features a full underside skid plate to protect all the cooling systems, especially important in diesel applications. Road Armor features 7/8" solid shackle mounts vs. the 3/16" used by ARB which will cause shackles to hang at an angle. The Road Armor unit also has a drop down center section to match the newer body style grills. Road Armor also features guards designed for the exact style of the OE vehicle, rather than a cookie cutter approach. The Road Armor unit comes with quad recessed light mounts with frenched-in trimout. The Road Armor unit also has corner marker light mounts standard. The Road Armor product comes with a lifetime guarantee against breakage. The Road Armor design is much tighter to the vehicle by locating the winch deeper within the factory frame.

IMHO, there is no comparison between a Road Armor guard and the one on the ARBOo.

Any pics of a Titan I front bumper for a gen 3 (2003 +) Dodge? What size are the light mounts? Is it possible to get one 6" light mount and one 4"? Also can you replace the rear bumpers square light mounts with 4" round light mounts?

Any thoughts on making a $tainless $teel version?

Just curious ... .

I guess that exsplains why the ARB is cheaper !!! I am a strong believer in you get what you pay for.

I agree with Cooker's statemant its personal preferance.

roadarmor,

Tell me what size the light holes are? I have WARN dual-beam lights (they're BIG), WARN fog lights, PIAA 520's, and my stock fog lights in my '04. If any 2 of these sets of lights will work, PREFERRABLY the WARNS, then you've got yourself another customer. And I'll drive to your factory to pick it up-SAVES me $

Hello Blake:

The Warns will likely fit in the center of the Titan II portion of the guard. The recessed light mounts in the bumper are 5" light opennings for 4" lights.

The Dodge/Ford bumper has 5" recessed light mounts. If you would like 6" and 5" you would need to order the body lift version. The bumper is built 3" taller and can be used on a non body lift truck. You can see that in the bottom right pics on our Dodge page. The Chevy/GMC HD model have 5 & 6 inch light mounts standard.

Thanks,

James

Discount on Trail Ready?

I must be out of my mind selling our stuff at this price!!! LOL. Well at least it should get us some good press with you all.

Does the discount also apply towards Trailready? Specifcally the 00 Grand Cherokee rear bumper? That I would be all over.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken:

I designed all the products for both companies. We are currently suing Trail Ready for IP violations upwards of $700,000. We are planning to release our Jeep product line again soon. But at this point we would not be able to consider any discounts on an unreleased product. Thanks for asking;)

WILL THE WARN FIT

roadarmor,

Thanks. I like the looks of the non-body lift version better. It would be in more proportion w/ my truck since it does not have a BIG lift and tires on it. Those WARNS are 7" lenses not counting the rock guard protector. Do you still think they'll fit in the brushguard section? If not, I'll have to opt for the Titan I  ?

Guy's we have a member, Guava, who is going to be going to be visiting the Road Armor plant, He will be making a drive from Seattle to South Wisconsin (pulling a good size trailer) and would be happy to pick up a load of bumpers and bring them along to various points if it would help people save $$$ on shipping and crateing. Man you gotta love the members on this board allways wanting to help fellow diesel heads :) I would say if your intrested in that option, sign up here for the bumper, and work out delivery directly with Guava.

Big thanks is in order to Guava for saving those on that route some bank, hey is Rohnert park, CA on the way :(

You must be talking about this captured from the Trailready website:

Who is Road Armor: Road Armor's History;

The Trailready brand was established in 1997 by RSI, an Everett WA based manufacturer, engaged in the manufacturing of various body protection products for Jeep vehicles. In 1999, in the process of trying to collect a debt for fabricating services rendered, RSI acquired the intellectual properties of the Road Armor Corp. in an agreement with it's owner. Road Armor filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2000. Since early 2000, RSI has designed, engineered and introduced dozens of new Truck and SUV bumper and body protection products. In late 2002, the original founder of the bankrupt Road Armor Corp. , in an attempt to capitalize on RSI's success, introduced a couple of new bumper products, similar in appearance to the Road Armor Series by Trailready. He has published these products at roadarmor.com, He has also published pictures of RSI's Road Armor products on his web site, which were copied from the Trailready web site. He has also claimed credit, by publishing pictures in print advertising and his web site, for the bumpers used the sequel, "2 Fast, 2 Furious" by Universal Studios, an RSI customer. He also claims to be "voted best designed bumper 4 years running" although it's not clear by whom.

RSI is taking the appropriate legal action to remedy this situation as soon as possible and we regret the inconvenience this has caused our customers.

And then this:

About Trailready: The Trailready brand was established in 1997 by Larry Trim and Brent Yeadon, co-owners of RSI, an Everett, WA based custom sheet metal fabricator since 1991. RSI began manufacturing simple diamond plate alum and steel Jeep CJ body protection parts. In early 2000, RSI acquired the intellectual properties of the Road Armor Corp. , another Washington based Jeep accessory manufacturer. This acquisition added the Very Cool and equally hard to produce Wrangler Stealth Acrylic Top along with a variety of Wrangler brush guards and side guards. From 2000 to 2003, RSI continued to introduce a complete line of Jeep, SUV and Light Truck Accessories.

In the winter of 1999, we were preparing one of our CJ7s for the sport of Championship Rock-crawling. Rather than purchase new bead lock wheels, Larry Trim attempted to make his own. Never having looked at the inside of a bead locked wheel, he came up with the off set wheel design for steel bead locks. Brent Yeadon and our design dept. developed our design of the bead lock ring and the rest is history. Trailready ships more bead locked wheels than any other wheel company and can be seen in every rockcrawling event and on any extreme trail, anytime.

All RSI products are manufacture in the Pacific Northwest.

So what's the scoop?

Now I might have to consider one of these if I could save some $$$ on shipping. Unfortunately I just installed my 99+ Sport bumper but a Road Armor sure would look nice on the front of my rig :D

What's the scoop with the info kbond posted?

Ken, the scoop is don't be suprised if TrailReady goes away, they are in big trouble for numorus reasons. Which I my not have all the scoop on but I do know for fact that Road Armor is suing them.

Here is the New Release:

(Seattle, WA - April 11, 2003) Road Armor LLC today filed suit against RSI/Trailready for trademark, copyright infringement and defamation.

In papers filed today (cause no. 03-2-23163-1 SEA) in Superior Court of Washington for King County, the plaintiffs are seeking a permanent injunction and relief for damages which have resulted from defendants unauthorized use of the name Road Armor and its intellectual property designs. The defendants' actions were unfair and deceptive in violation of the trademark law and are in violation of the Washington Consumer Protection Act, RCW 19. 86. 090/19. 86. 020. Defendants have unlawfully defamed plaintiffs by speaking and writing false and damaging untruths about plaintiffs.

Hey Cooker, not to sure if Grand Rapids, MI is between "Seattle and South Wisconsin" :)

No it's not but it would be pretty easy for me to justify the short drive to South Wisconson to pick a bad ass bumper at a good price :D
