new transmission

well guys i just got my truck back from the transmission shop, and i absolutely love it, but the owner recommends that i dont dyno this weekend, due to the fact that i should give the transmission some time to wear in the new clutches and everything :( . oh well ill still bring her ans have a awsome time.

WDimig,

Dynoing the truck with the new transmission will not hurt it any way..... I have driven straight from a transmission shop to the dyno and spun the rollers with no ill effects. So if you want put it on, but in any case you will have a great time this weekend.

WDimig,

I'm with Jetpilot, dyno the truck. i rebuilt my trans, and within 15 miles was in Thunder in muncie, running it hard, dynoing and drag racing immediately, the only thing i blew was a head gasket,LOL. That same trans is still going strong, and i have almost 7000 miles on it since then. Besides the dyno doesnt put the full load on the truck that driving it will. Its your truck/decision,but id do it.

anyone want to meet off I70 at the park and ride exit 29A, there are 3 of us meeting there at 630 then heading down.

When I had my BTS transmission done, Brian and I went out for a test drive and I asked him about a break in period. He said "What break in period?... Nail it!!" ;)

I've been "Nailing it" ever since Oo.

ill do it!

hmmm... . i think i will dyno after all. he said the only reason that he wants me to be easy is to allow all the seals and clutches to wear in and alow a longer life for the transmission. ill dyno! besides i want to have the chance to win some prizes from our generous donoators and sponsors.

Doug,

We are going to be running a correction factor for all the trucks in the stock class. This way everyone is on an even playing field. So a guy with a 160 HP OEM truck will be able to compete with a new 600 model.

The formula will use advertised HP for that year and model truck. All trucks will have a correction factor applied to decide the winner.

I live just over the line in PA in Bethel. We are meeting at 6 am Sat in the morning at Exton Diner on rt 100 in Exton Pa.

It will take me about 1/2 hour from my house to get to the diner so I'll be leaving about 5:30 am. You are welcome to convoy with us.

Otherwise just go up to the turnpike and head west to exit 236 (US 15 S)

drive 10 miles south and turn right on Century Lane Road

Then left on Range End Road

901 Range End Road on the left.

Hey Jetpilot, that's OK but remember last year when I dynoed my 03 it was a very low number compared to everyone elses. Even though it was 305/555 motor it only dynoed 236 HP. Heck there were some 2nd gens that were dynoing 235. I only had them by 1 HP.

AHHHH, quit your *****in!! LOL!!!! :-laf :D :-laf Oo.

J/K... . Had to bust on ya Lloyd!! :p :D

No Chance against high HP Trucks

Dougmartin: Not to worry. Except for the specific awards for HP & Show-n-Shine, all the donated "Goodies" are awarded by random drawing. Everyone that dyno's has their name put in a hat and as your name is drawn you get to select the "Goody" of your choice (that is left at the time your name is drawn). Doesn't have a thing to do with your dyno results - Just that you dynoed.

Oo. Oo. Oo.
