It's been awhile since the last posts on this topic. I'm looking at purchasing something & I'd like to hear what you've got & are you happy with it. I've seen some on trucks that are loosing their lamination & just generally looking real worn.

How is yours holding up? Does it flutter & make noise in the wind? I want to drive with the rear window open. #ad
What kind did you buy & how long have you had it? Thanks for your input.

i have a roll-n-lock cover thst is about 3 years old. it has done fair though it leaks a little. the plastic end caps on the rail mounts broke twice and the bed pocket covers come lose {this is probably where the most water comes in }and the lock bar on the tail gate gets in the way when loading heavy stuff that has to be slid across the tailgate. mine is manual but my brother has an electric one from "specialty covers" that is only 6 months old but is doing great so far. all in all i think that maybe my brothers and the new cover from pace edwards may be a better built unit than the one i have. hope this helps.

I installed a roll top on my truck a few weeks ago. Pretty easy install except trimming cover around my headache rack. Doesn't leak (yet). I plan on Armoralling regularly to keep vinyl looking new. Looks realy good.

Hi Forrest, I have a Pace Roll Top. It's about two and a half years old. Very tough to keep it looking decent. I run quite often with it open for the fifth wheel. The aluminum slats rub on the vinyl and leave gray residue streaks that are almost impossible to clean off. Also, when closed it flutters way too much at highway speed. Sounds like you are draging a big bag of beer cans behind you when the rear window is open. I will look for a different solution next time around. I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with.

hey forest, i forgot to mention that neither mine or my brothers seems to give noise problems. mines a 4x4 and has a cd player, both of which are ussually making enough noise of their own. wiredawg, you did'nt say which brand you have.

Thanks all for the comments.

Wiredawg - What mfg & model do you have & does it make any noise. Right on about Armorall, or something else. Just spray it on & let it soak in!

MikeH - I knew there was at least 1 brand out there that does make noise. Bummer you had to get one. #ad
We'll find out right here who has one that doesn't make noise & holds up to the weather long term.

m. c. - Yep, I've got all kinds of noises/sounds going on in the cab also. The radio is usually up & the RE-0880 is whining away. #ad
I hope yours stays quiet after weathering & the open/close cycles. Probably will. #ad

I'm not so worried about keeping rain out 100% as I am about delamination & noise. Also, snow loading is a concern. These come out of the box real shiny & are going to fade. You know the RV folks make treatments for RV roofs that we may be able to use. #ad

I've got a pace edwards roll top now- not thrilled #ad
the electric version was $400. 00 more (2 years ago when i bought mine) for 400 clams I guess i can get off my butt and move it my self- A friend has a roll & lock on his truck- after comparing side by side the r&l is a better built unit. If I replace the truck and go for a roll cover the roll and lock would be my choice

Ive had the roll & lock ( made in pompano beach FL. )from day one of taking delivery of the truck. I think its great, no problems no leaks. All aluminum nothing to delaminate or peel off. Only maintainance is keeping the tracks greased (I use silicone spray)and keep the drain hoses clear. No noise at highway speeds.
