I'm thinking of getting one of the roll top covers & wanted to hear from you. Which mfg & model do you have & are you happy?

I wonder about snow loading, uv protection, wear issues, maintenance & mfg service. Ours is the perfect forum to hear the plusses & minuses.

Thanks

I use a fold up bed cover called Fold-a-Cover. It's strong enuff to walk on and has a lock.

Both of my brothers got the Pace Edwards roll top for their Rams (gassers, but at least 3/4 ton real trucks) and love them. After a brief try with a Saddleman/LeBra piece of junk soft tonno, I'll be ordering a PE for myself soon. This is a nice top, lockable and good looking.

I have a Pace Edwards Roll Top. I like it for ease of use. It just clears the top of my fifth wheel hitch and is great for keeping stuff in the bed secure and out of sight. On the down side, it's not easy to keep clean. Also, the airflow over the cab of the truck comes over and down, hitting the cover just hard enough to cause it to flex up and down in the center. The frequency of the flex action is in direct relation to vehicle speed. It creates a rattling noise that is very distracting, especially when driving with the rear window open. Check out the January 2000 issue of TRAILER LIFE. They show a couple of new covers that operate the same way, including an electric one, and claim to have eliminated the noise problem.

I've seen the Pace Edwards advertised also. You're right, the soft look good for about 2 days, then garbage.

I've got that Trailer Life & I'll ck it out. That electric seems really nice. I worry about that 5th wheel hitch sometimes, getting ripped off, even though I've got locks.

I'll bet I have to take off those diamond plate covers on the side of the bed.

Great feedback on the rattling. One of the reasons I like the rear window open is to hear the exhaust. Another Cummins nut.

On the 95 Dodge, I called Pace & they said it was ok to Rhino up the sides. The additional 1/8" would be ok, but the diamond plates may be a problem if they aren't flush.
