Competition roller cam bearings

Does anybody else know anything about putting roller cam bearings in a 5. 9 when using a billet cam? I've only heard of one person doing it, maybe one other experimenting. Nascar and dirt-track guys swear by them, so they would have to be streetable? Lube from oil splash only, foolproof right? The mod won't cost me much, is it worth it?

I can't say that I have ever heard of roller cam bearings. You gave me something to look into.

I have heard of people using roller cam beaarings on gas engines but I thought that had to do with drag at high rpm wich probaly wouldn't be as big of an issue in a diesel engine and most of the time it is a very costly moification for the limited gain in power.

One would think if you go to roller cam bearings they have to either bore out the block{cam bore}or turn down the cam because they only run 1 cam bearing{front one}. That would be really cool if they do it!

If you turn down the journals of the cam, you wouldn't be able to get the cam lobes by the bearings, would you?

The cam doesn't get touched, all the machining is done on the block. Several people are also just installing standard bearings like used on the #1 lobe, but on all 7 lobes, instead of having the cam ride directly on the block. Cousin Billy, I spoke to Van last week, and your 100% correct, he's one of the nicest guys i've spoke with in a while. Only problem is nobody can answer how their hold up for street use also. Guess i'll find out for everybody, block going to the machine shop tomorrow.
