well figured you all could use a laugh. last night I turned the truck off and thought I put the truck in gear. went inside 10 min later big loud noise. come to find out my truck coasted down my driveway and completely smashed down my double steel doors including all fram work for the doors to stop wedged up to the doors in the house basement.

I got a estimate its 4,600. 00 for truck damage about 1200. 00 for house.

thank the lord I have a small deductible.

so I will get 2 new fenders new bumper, grill lights pass-door and mirror and step bars. its been so cold this last week I usually dont set the p-brake. maybe now I will.

my wifed really loved me after this one.

I feel your pain I did the same thing with a new dodge work truck. I was a little luckier though because the truck hit the gate post so it only suffered bumper damage. My pride was hurt worse than the truck being it was only a few months old when it happened.

You got off easy. We didn't at work. It involved 2 Mack trucks. The truck that rolled, had an old tri-axle trailer on it, and is old enough that it doesn't have spring brakes. The air pressure leaked down over night, and the spring brakes on the tractor (only came with spring brakes on one axle, now on both rear axles) weren't strong enough to hold back the weight. Truck rolled down the hill into the other Mack, and a bulk bin. Around $6-8k in damage between the 2 trucks. Bin wasn't hurt.

Did this today. Pulled into our yard at work to pick up some material. Stopped the truck and got out while talking to the General Foreman. Started to walk way and heard a vehicle moving. Turned around and my truck was driving away. Threw the phone and ran after the truck. Got the truck stopped about 2 inches from hitting a house.

Park my truck in our 2 degree +/- driveway, goes up from street to house about 24' long. This time of year I nose in to plug in over night. I always set the P-brake. Came home after the snow and wouldn't get to clear the drive until next day. Wifey gets up first and says to me "Joe why did you park your truck so far down the driveway? Someone's liable to hit it if they're not careful". Huh?! I look out the window and sure enough it slid all the way to the edge of the curb, tail end hanging into the street. Guess I'll have to use wheel chocks next time I can't get to the drive in time???
