FEMA Trailers......formaldehyde

Hello there! I need to reseal the seam on my new LQ horse trailer. It is one piece aluminum and it looks like the manufacturer sealed the outer seam witha white " Brushed on" stuff. Dried to a hard white finish, not rubbery like Silicone... Starting to crack just a bit so wanted to give it the once over before it rained... Any suggestions????

It sounds like it might be Cool Seal. It is roof paint I use it on my TT and found that it works quite well. You can get it at camping world.

I use a "flow sealant" called C-10 on my TC which has the aluminum roof. It comes in a tube for use in a cailking gun. It stays pliable after install. Whatever you do... DO NOT USE silicon in a tube. Any RV sealer you will want to use in the future will not adhere to silicon.

I have the exact same type of roof on my race car trailer. I take a clean rag and wipe the old sealant with rubbing alcohol, to remove dirt, etc. Then I take Dicor lap sealant, a caulking gun and some latex gloves and wipe it on. It looks like cake icing. It takes me two tubes to cover the circumference of a 32 foot trailer. It flows some, but you will have to coax it on with your fingers. I have given up on finding anything that will last longer than a year or year and a half. I had the roof replaced last year, I don't know what type of sealant they used but it lasted a year, too. I just consider it part of my annaul maitenance. The C-10 product may work better, I just tried the Dicor first and it seems to work fine.
