Does anyone use or recommend this? Is it worth it for engine longevity?
From my limited knowledge, Rotella T6 is the only 100% synthetic Shell oil and comes in 5w-40. T5 comes in 15w-40 and 10w-30 and is a synthetic blend. What % of a blended oil is synthetic? Nobody knows since it isn't posted on the label or websites. So I am assuming you are referring to Shell T5 15w-40 which is a synthetic blend oil. I use and have a lot of it. With the current $5 a gallon rebate and available at Walmart for $15 a gallon ($10 a gallon after rebate), it is much cheaper than the T4 conventional oil. I like the numbers on T5 provided by PQIA. Big Calcium, Phosphorus, and Zinc numbers compared to most diesel oils and T4. If you are a T4 user, you should switch to T5 at a lower cost and better additive numbers.

I’ve posted a few times about buying Delvac for $4 a gallon with Mobil’s $7 rebate and a price match of Walmart’s $10.47 a gallon. With a little effort, no reason to ever pay more than $10 a gallon for quality named brand oil.

UH, I think I paid a bit more!

IMO T-6 its on Sales at Menards at $17.60 PG with 11% rebate, use the $5.00 Shell Rebate $12.60 PG, T-6 has the additive Package I like for Diesel's
I’d jump all over this deal if I had a Menards within a days drive. From their website, T6 is on sale for $19.95 minus a 11% Menards rebate ($2.19). And it also qualifies for a $7 a gallon Shell rebate. Total cost: $$10.76 a gallon. Offer ends at midnight, but can buy online and pickup in store.
