Sled Puller,

You asked if I still sold Royal Purple.

Not for the last 2. 5 years. I got a Texas Resale License, had to get a Texas DBA name (doing buisness as). I had to buy in quantity and then package myself for resale, deal with 100 case minimums to get discounts. As you can see, I had to become a ***REAL*** dealer to sell Royal Purple products. Was it worth it? No. I didnt have the time, space, or desire to do so. It was just as easy to order from RPMOIL. COM. So I let it go. Not failed. just didnt want to make the investment to make it big.

Do you have to get all that to sell your oil? Or just send $50 and become a middleman?

So the best you can come up with is repeating you don't like the way they market their product?(incorrectly,BTW, pyramid is NOT MLM. )

Maybe you can help me out here, is an Auto Parts store selling Amsoil a pyramid scheme?

What about a snowmobile shop?

A Quik Lube?

A Dodge dealership?

If you say yes, then you need to inform them they are a pyramid scheme.

You are fanatically uninformed, and I would love to know your real reasons behind bashing a product, its users, and its sales people.

Ah-ha, the truth comes out!!!

So, if the state of Texas gives you the go ahead, you can be a ******* REAL****** salesman!!!!!!!

Now I'm a middle man? I thought I was a part of a pyramid scheme? Make up your mind.

Did RP offer any tech schools? Or do they let anyone with a stamp of approval to resale and can buy 100 cases sell their product? Interesting.

I am glad you came clean with your ties to RP. Also thanks for showing us how other companies sell their product.

MLM ok, lets stick to one term then. Now we have one agreed point :-laf

So, is the response to my last three posts simple to define one term? Have you no other responses to the last three?

It would seem that some people believe Amsoil is a religion.

Please read through my last three posts and comment on the link I provided to support my claim that it is all about marketing and profit.

Yes there were training classes available. Does Amsoil have some standard I dont know about or will they let anyone with $50 (whatever) become an Amsoil dealer? What exactly is Amsoil's criteria for becoming a dealer?

I have no idea who those people are. If they choose to sell Amsoil that way, more power to them. It does not lessen the quality of the product. If you have scientific proof that it does, please share. And no, comparing oil to Shaklee vitamins is not scientific.

I still don't see what the American PETROLEUM Insititute has to do with a PAO based synthetic? All of their petroleum based, semi -synthetic oils have the star. If you think you need the star, don't buy Amsoil full synthetics. , simple as that.

Your arguments always go back to acusing us of being stoopid followers, yet you seem just as, if not MUCH more fanatical about your API stamp of approval, and that every other oil is just as good as Amsoil for less money. Your posts get more shrill as the thread goes on, in fact, you start repeating yourself, you ignore good answers, you need help.

Its just oil, man, let it go!!!!

The same as Royal Purple- you had minimum quanties to buy, we have a yearly fee, with no minimums.

And yes, they have training seminars, the commercial and industrial training was intensive.

Too bad it wasn't mandatory for both companies.

Its just oil, man, let it go!!!! (funny you are quoting me now :-laf )

Well, for one, open your owners manual and it will say use oil conforming to API **-*/* or some such thing. Wonder if Dodge Cummins got it all wrong by saying to use API certified oil? Somewhere in the manual it says that API is a requirement for warranty.

I never called you stupid, only described your devotion to Amsoil as fanatical at times and simular to a religion.

You never commented on the link I provided and my claim that it is all about promotion and $$$$$.

Here is a hint: Georgia was a Confederate State, I'm still not sure why you brough that up in the PM but wahtever.

No, I'm done. I'm going to go take a bath in Amsoil. I like the 0W-30, it leaves my skin silky smooth.

Pennsylvania is PA not Penn. What century were you born in? :D

No wait, one more.

The owners manual is basic stuff to get our heaps through warranty with a minimum amount of warranty claims.

The same book that says to use an oil confirming to API service CF-4, or CG-4,(Amsoil exceeds those requiremnets, prove that it doesn't!) also told me that the lube in my NV4500 5 speed was a LIFETIME FILL!!!!, never needed changed.

Anybody get burned on that one?

I have a better idea, why dont we just admit that we love our Dodge/Cummins and go on and share common ground.

Other definates:

1. Sled Puller lives in Penn. Edit: PA not Penn

2. TD lives in Texas.

3. Sled Puller favors Asmoil

4. TD favors RP

5. The guys with the 1,000,000 mile Rams that run Walmart oil and OEM filters think we are both nuts.

6. Our common enemy is out there laughing.

Good enough?

Because HELL NO WE WON"T FORGET. Haven't you seen the Southern tags! Hey I LIKE Amsoil products. I like AL! I like being able to order from their catalog(updated often)and BIG BROWN delivers it to MY front door. Could CARE how they run their internals or pay employees.

amsoil

you guys are awsome, im envious of you  hey tex did you even look at my head to head comparison in my earlier link: i think your tune will change when you do, by the way why dont the purple oil people test and PRINT out there results like amsoil does???? bet they wont and dont, because they simply cant beat or equal amsoil------not a religion---just facts! :--)

wmoody, I addressed your comment previously. Go to the RP site, there you will see a technical page with lots of reviews and such. Even one from drag racing something or another.

I think RP advertises on the basis it's products innovations and does not try to cliam it out does one company or another. There is only one company around that makes sport of "I'm betther than you" advertising, you my friend, get to go figure out who it is.

One persons "facts" is another persons silliness.

RP's comparisons to regular oil dont impress me try impressing me with RP vs amsoil or redline also the part where non certified oils are inferior well lets look at harley davidson oils? ----looks like there not certified, guess everyone that is using that is "just throwing there money away" sorry i dont buy that! my question was did you look at the comparison yes or no, i looked at yours--care to comment? :--) :-laf

Yes, I looked at the comparisons and anything I have to say would be, well, lets just say I'm not going there.

Why do you keep acting 12 yrs old and baiting this on?

THERE IS NO AND NEVER WILL BE A WINNER IN THIS AREA.

Let it go, as Sled Puller and I have done.

Or atleast use paragraphs in your replys so I can read them.

TEXAS DIESEL,

I did send you a PM, and I hope you read it! I will respectfully ask that there be no name calling on this thread.

Now let me give you a little info regarding API Licensed oils that was recently relaeased.

"QUOTE" The results of the American Petrolium Institute's 2004 Engine oil aftermarket audit program, which tests the quality of API-licensed motor oils found in the retail market, reveal that 11 of the 611 motor oil samples were "nonconforming. " Nonconforming oils either had incorrect additive traet levels, failed the cold cranking limit, were not the correct VISCOSITY grade or were otherwise deficient.

2 of the 11 nonconforming oils were found to have "significant nonconformance" that could cause engine damage!

28 percent of API's 529 licenses had at least one product sampled for the 2004 audit, with 20 percent of the samples obtained from bulk oil sites, 38 percent from quick lubes, 27 percent from Auto repair shops and the balance from service stations, car dealers and truck facilities. Passenger car motor oils comprised 79 percent of the samples, while the rest were HEAVY DUTY motor oils.

Samples included 10W-30 (30%), 15W-40 (19%), 5W-30 (17%) and 5W-20 (6%) Viscosity grades, and 18 percent of the samples were obtained outside the US and Canada.

In order to remain licensed, the nonconforming oils had to undergo additional third-party physical and chemical testing.

One oil passed the additional requirements and retained its license, while another also met the additional requirements and had its license briefly reinstated before being caught committing the same offense!

According to Kevin Ferrick of the API, "API did not require the removal of ANY of the oills of the nonconforming licensee from the marketplace while the testing was under way, during the enforcment action or later. "[END QUOTE]

I guess none of us are gauranteed high quality oils, even if they are API licensed! :{

its funny how amsoil can use ASTM standards for all there tests----but not RP, no they gota run and grab a heat gun to show that there oil is "best", it cost less to test than it does to certify ---i wonder why they wont test them?RP :-{} amsoil
