Was getting out of the truck last night at the ambulance barn and the Fiancee is getting out the other, all of a sudden I hear a the tinny sound of a can landing on the ground followed the sickening hiss as all of it's contents are sprayed out all over everything. I knew that the only can that could have fallen out was one of Black spray paint I had bought recently to touch up the bumpers. Sure enough I walk around to the passenger side and it looks like I have been out mudding in a tar pit. Of course the door was open and so the inside of the windshield has gotten it along with the dash and the majority of the door sill areas. What a mess. Fortunately I have a very good woman and after five hours of scrubbing we had managed to clean it up to the point that there is only about four or five spots that show up and they are all in hard to reach areas around the door hinges and are not that visible anyway. We used Simple Green and Orange Blast and both worked very well. The Orange Blast was just a little bit better at loosening up the paint as it got drier. When this happened it also got all over my friends camper that was parked up there. Fortunately it came off of that even easier than the truck. I was very thankful we were able to clean up that mess. I was about heartsick when it first happened, thinking about having to get it fixed if we couldn't get it cleaned off. Anyway this is mostly a note of appreciation for my girl. Not alot of them would spend five hours cleaning up a truck and then take it well when you give them a hard time about their brand new jeans and tennis shoes that are now black since she was standing in the center of the whole spray when it busted open. The only loss is that we just could not seem to get it out of the grooves on the running boards. I am contemplating either painting them black or trying to use a wire brush or something and then repolishing. Possibly I may just buy a new set. Unfortunately I don't have time or the money to get back to it this week, so it will just have to hold for a while.
