It shoud stay on all the time unless the C&C is different than the reg truck or maybe the difference is the standard trans verses the auto. Mine is allways on and have never turned it off.
RVTRKN,
I believe most posts which have addressed the turn-on/turn-off issue VIA THE SWITCH, suggest that the C&C is in fact different, in that once turned-on, the EB switch STAYS on, whether or not the truck is turned off, until the EB switch is turned off.
In the pick-ups, if the EB switch is on when the truck is turned off, the EB automatically turns off too, and the driver must turn the EB back on again, when the truck is started the next time.
But,... this is not what is being discussed in this thread, regarding the 1100rpm. When the EB switch is on,... the EB does not "function" (actually try to slow the truck) until your foot comes off the accelerator.
Then the rig is slowed, until at some point the EB cuts-out, or stops "functioning", even though the switch is still on.
Based on what members have reported so far, it is beginning to seem that the usual point where this occurs is around 1100 rpm, in one of the top 4 gears, ... possibly never functioning at all in 2nd or 1st gear.
What I have said here applies mainly to the auto. We do not have many reports on the manual trans yet so don't have a firm impression of any differences re. the EB.
