Looking for a recommendation for a 5th wheel trailer brake controller. Had a MaxBrake in my 2004 2500. That truck caught on fire. I have a 2006 3500 and need a replacement brake controller. Recommendations please.

A friend of mine travels the USA hauling horses for a select clientele. The smoothest engagement and most positive engagement (proportionality) made this controller the only choice.

Should you be considering the upgrade to trailer disc brakes then get that version. The TUSON Antilock Module a second upgrade to that for fastest stops.

Their Anti-Sway Module a good idea with any trailer.

Thank you. Yes that is what I had before I got the MaxBrake. I was curious if there might be more options. Will purchase something soon. Thank You

I’ve ran a Prodigy P2 and a Max Brake. Each one worked well in their own right and the perfect controller would use aspects of both… but I don’t know if that’s out there.

I have the OEM controller in my 2022 and just put an OEM controller in the wife’s Gladiator. Had the OEM option not been available for the Gladiator I was going to get a Prodigy P3.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards the p2 or p3.
Have a GOOD and Heathy year!

Generic. Sells on price. It’s not what you’re looking for assuming previous use of MAXBRAKE or JORDAN.

Or for anyone remembers the use of Kelsey-Hayes.

Remember that most travel trailer owners are new. 5-years, maybe. And don’t travel often or far. Seriously deficient in setting hitch rigging correctly.

Then add incorrect inflation pressures + maladjusted brakes and “judgment” of brake controllers is more than suspect.

At least you appear to be avoiding “wireless” brake controllers. Some things are mind-boggling.
